Opens at 11 am not 8 am - Edit
We tried to go there on a Monday morning for breakfast. Apparently on weekdays they open at 11 am and only at 9 am on weekends. We were in a hurry so we went somewhere else, just wanted to let you know about the different opening hours😄

Nettes kleines Lokal mit einem spezial Ambiente. Im Sommer ist der Gastgarten sicher eine Wucht. Die Auswahl ist gut und die Gerichte schmecken. Ist auf jedenfall einen Besuch wert.

Excellent variety of food and drinks for decent price - Edit
The food and drink options were all great. The only thing lacking was the customer service, as we waited half an hour to be seated only to squeeze into a chair of two. They were nice to move us to a bigger table when it became available but they could have offered the initial option from the very beginning.

Another excellent place in Bratislava - Edit
I came only about ten minutes before the kitchen closed (and 40 before the entire restaurant did) and yet I still got an excellent service that included a delicious burger with home-made fries with mayo as light as a cloud. I also had some harissa beans with a bit of bread for the appetizer. The burger was so great I looked like a pig eating it, because I didn’t want to put it down nor did I want to waste time using silverware. Even though everything was full in flavor and satisfyingly filling, it wasn’t heavy, and even after eating so much I felt light! The prices in this restaurant are a bit higher, so I wouldn’t recommend this as a once-a-day joint (I don’t know whether they have a lunch menu), but you get your money’s worth in the high quality of the food, presentation, and service. I can’t wait to come eat here again.

Came here right when they opened their doors at 11:00 and they were packed within minutes. Great selection of burgers, sandwiches and co. and homemade lemonades. Also daily menu with soup for quite cheap. The staff was very friendly and the place just looks great.

Was looking forward to eating here after reading the reviews and with it being a vegan place, some good options. The place felt local and was nice inside but we left feeling pretty disappointed. I dont know if the menu has changed recently but all the dishes seemed to have vegan cheese and mock meats. It was all really heavy. For a vegan place with a decent sized menu I was surprised there were no healthier options, or even just dishes that weren't trying to replicate meat dishes.

In a city where not much was of inspiration, worth the long-ish walk from the centre, Balans emerged as a highlight; I had the Cuban sandwich while my friend had the hot dog - both solid plant based, meat substitute alternatives- our 3rd friend had the Pirohy, traditional dumplings served with an outrageously tasty creamy / cheesy sauce, which we immediately, greedily dipped our food into. The atmosphere was nice and the staff friendly - highly recommend.

Small restaurant on the outskirts of the city center with a good selection of food. We had a gyro plate and Mac'n'Cheese, both were delicious and we definitely recommend them. The service was very friendly and the restaurant was nicely decorated.

Read moreI was bit struggling with choosing from the menu as I had to eat but wasn't so hungry. Went for the quesadilla and was slightly disappointed. The presentation was extremely basic and the taste wasn't somehow outstanding too. I'm afraid i just made wrong choice and will definitely come back to try some more next time.
Had an ice tea and that was really nice.
Staff was nice and prices were good too.

It's almost useless adding yet another review stating this place is just so great, but I'm going to do it anyways ;)
Read moreWe had to wait 10 minutes or so to get a table for three and were told we might have to wait 30 minutes or so for our order to be ready due to the crowdedness of the place. The food came a lot faster than that, and after our first few bites we understood why everyone loves this place so much.
The Protein Bowl was lovely - finally a place serving enough (and both) tofu and chickpeas in a bowl! It was not too heavy, fresh ingredients, and super flavourful. Portion size was just right for us. The katsu curry was also delicious and again, so flavourful (and that's something I often miss in restaurant food). We all wished we could try the entire menu. A lot was already sold out when we arrived (vegan gyros, California burrito, drinks, etc.).
Lots of respect for the very hard-working staff that really put effort into making us feel welcome and comfortable. They were patient and polite all the way through, even at the busiest, most demanding hours of the evening. Even our dogs' water bowl was refilled before we had even asked for it.
Unfortunately we didn't get to try out any of their awesome-looking homemade lemonades, ice teas, coffees, or Tibi (kombucha's cousin?) because it was closing time almost right after we finished eating, but that's only another reason to come back again!
Pros: Superb service, Fresh ingredients and portion size, Ambience
Cons: Lots sold out (but that = less food waste!)
