Great range

It is good to have a bakery chain in Australia that can be relied upon to have a decent range of vegan friendly bread, rolls etc. you can (and of course should) also ask for your products to be packaged in paper, instead of plastic.

Pros: large vegan range, paper packaging option

WHY?!

Seeing Bakers Delight listed on Happy Cow reminds me of the olden days when people used to ask me, “can you eat bread?” Um, yeah. Bread is typically vegan! And Bakers Delight is no more vegan friendly than the bakery section at the supermarket. A few years ago they introduced vegan cheese on a couple of savoury options including a mini vegan hotdog roll, which was cool! But I haven’t seen it for ages and certainly not at this branch in Northland.

Bakers Delight has a huge range of vegan friendly bakery items which are palm oil free and the ingredients tend to be fairly simple, whereas the supermarket bakery range mostly does contain palm oil along with other possible non-vegan ingredients, such as emulsifiers and L-Cysteine. There's also not very much to choose from at the supermarket in comparison to Baker's Delight.
