Worth the Trip - Edit
If traveling along Highway 60 east of Springfield, one must stop here. Not just for the restaurant, but the whole experience. The other shops have various pickled vegetables, salsas, jelly and such and well as a seed store with a wide selection.
Read moreWith a rotating menu, you get what you get. What I had was a veggie stir-fry that was excellent. There was a seitan chick'n and tofu egg that I'm sure would fool many omnivores.

Delicious & Healthy - Edit
So glad they're open again after the pandemic closure. Only open on Fridays during the winter. No longer donation based but modest menu prices. Menu changes but what fresh ingredients they have on hand. Relaxing nice place with gift shop that sells lots of seeds, jam, gifts, gardening stuff, etc.

Hidden treasure - Edit
I would have never thought to check this out if it weren't for my job that has me traveling all over the state of Missouri, and it's less than an hour away from Springfield! The seed shop is super cute. I was not expecting when I arrived for this place to be a miniature town setup. There is a seed shop, farmlands, bakery, textiles, coffee shop, and the restaurant. To clarify, the restaurant is the thing here that is fully vegan. The bakery is not but they offer vegan options, and you bring the pastries from the bakery to pay in the seed shop. The seed shop sells jams, popcorn kernels, canned goods, etc. The coffee shop offers almond milk as an alternative milk. But that restaurant is AMAZING. I had a squash soup with seasoned, roasted chickpeas on top, homemade slice of bread, and a side salad with an onion/garlic dressing that was sort of sweet, sort of savory with fresh vegetables of many kinds. The menu alternates daily and there are two specials to choose from. They offer Spring Branch kombucha as well. They offer vegan ice cream in the restaurant. It's an awesome experience and I would drive here again.

Small menu, big homestead - Edit
We wanted to visit Baker Creek while on our roadtrip since we grow their seeds in our garden. It was fun to explore the homestead and see so many gorgeous flowers in bloom! The menu offers 4-5 options and likely rotates. We enjoyed the homemade pasta and marinara sauce, breadsticks, and garden salad with tofu and rice. The tofu was prepared really uniquely and reminded me of samosas. They had homemade soda and infused water - super refreshing on this 100° day! We had our dog with us, and since we were the only ones there shortly before closing, they were very kind and let him hang out inside since no outdoor seating is available.

Great Food on Donation - Edit
Completely vegan (even the ice cream). Delicious tasting Asian cuisine. You typically have two choices of appetizer and two choices of entree on the menu which change from day to day, along with a dessert. The Wok Greens are really good, and I've never been disappointed with the entree either. The food is served in a donation basis.
