Bean & Bagel — Avocado & Chives Bagel 🥑 - Edit
Amsterdam has a way of slowing you down without asking permission.
Read moreI found myself tucked away in Bean & Bagel, sitting in a calm, modern space of warm wood, soft lighting, and the gentle hum of conversation. No rush. No pressure. Just a quiet pocket of the city inviting you to breathe.
The avocado bagel arrived looking simple but intentional. Thick slices of creamy avocado layered over fresh salad, juicy tomatoes, and finished with a generous sprinkle of chives. The bagel itself was soft with just enough chew, letting the freshness of the fillings do the talking and it was Gluten Free!f
The side of herbed cream cheese sat there tempting me, while the cool cucumber slices added a crisp, refreshing contrast. Every bite felt clean, light, and satisfying without being heavy.
What stood out most wasn’t the bagel itself—it was the experience around it. The natural light pouring through the windows, the relaxed atmosphere, and that feeling of having nowhere urgent to be. Sometimes food tastes better because of where you are and how you feel when you’re eating it.

So many options - Edit
Lots of options, I had the Thai Chicken chilli which was delicious. My husband ordered the Bali bagel, not even realising it was vegan and wasn't disappointed.
Read moreThe staff were super helpful and lovely. We hadn't noticed the English menu at the back, they were kind enough to notice and show us.

Amazing bagels! - Edit
Great vegan options for a cafe that doesn't necessarily advertise as being "vegan friendly"... visited a few of the locations in Amsterdam for breakfast and all of them were great. The hummus is spectacular!!

Spaarndammer Ballet - Edit
Had a couple of coffees here with a piece of vegan pecan pie on New Year's Day 2018 whilst exploring the area. The coffee in B&B's is always excellent and even better with the accompanying pie. As tasty as it was, the small slice certainly wasn't worth €4.50. It's not a place you'd seek out especially but it's not somewhere you would avoid either.
