Good overall

Solid bagels and tofu cream cheese. Not all bagels are vegan, so be careful when ordering.

good bagels and tofu cream cheese

this place is super busy but it has a nice old school vibe on the inside. There are a few options for vegan bagels which seems to be enough and tofu cream cheese. I got it toasted and we took it outside to eat. If I lived in the area then I think I’d be here all the time.

Good spot for breakfast

Very busy bagel spot in town. Expect to wait in line on the weekends. Get hummus or tofu cream cheese on your choice of vegan bagels.

Put lox on more than once

Used to love it due to vegan bagel & vegan cream cheese options but my friend and i have had lox (fish) put on our fully vegan orders more than once.

Pros: Vegan bagel and side options

Cons: Incorrect orders with fish

Good bagels. Bland sandwiches.

The bagels were pretty good, as was the vegan cream cheese. But the sandwich options were pretty bland. The sort of thing you’d expect a non-vegan to come up with: raw veggies, no seasoning, hardly any spread to give anything flavor. Next time, I’d just stick with a bagel and cream cheese.

Pros: Several well marked vegan options, Plenty of vegan bagels, Staff knows what vegan means

Cons: Bland sandwich options

Bagel Nirvana

Large eatery, lots of bagel choices. We had homemade hummus with fresh veggies and avocado. They also have tofu cream cheese. Friendly service, lovely community vibe.

Amazing bagels

The vegan cream cheese here is out of this world! And the bagels are SO fresh and delicious; the vegan ones are all labeled as well. They have soy milk for coffee and there is lots of seating area even for when the place is crowded

Pros: vegan options labeled on menu

I have always been a fan of their bagels. Whole Wheat Everything is Vegan and is a MUST have. Just recently, they have started to label things as Vegan! So easy to spot Vegan options!

Pros: Vegan options are labeled, Delicious bagels, Friendly

Cons: Can get busy at times, Sometimes not enough seating, Not many vegan dessert options

Love it!

Lots of seating inside, and lots of vegan options. I went at about 8 am and there was a line out the door, however it went very fast! I have tried the vegan cream cheese, avocado sandwich, and lemonade here. The lemonade is so sweet and yummy, I definitely recommend trying. The vegan cream cheese is as realistic to real cream cheese that I've had. I wasn't sure at first if they might have messed up my order! The avocado sandwich was delicious as well and the avocado was very fresh! Only complaint I might have is that the cashier had no idea what was vegan and what wasn't so I only hope that the avocado sandwich is actually vegan because I just guessed from what ingredients they had up!

Pros: Cream Cheese, Lemonade, Baked Goods

Cons: Asked for pasta salad, gave me fruit, Didn't understand what vegan was

Long standing, quality place

Bagel Central has been an institution in Bangor for quite some time. They are reliable when you want to sit for a while with a hot beverage and a bagel. They have free wi-fi and large tables, so it is a great place to sit and work or read a book. They have about a half a dozen options for vegan bagels (marbled rye, cranberry-water, sesame-water, whole wheat, and whole wheat everything). They have tofu cream cheese, peanut butter, and hummus as bagel toppings. They have a solid lunch menu, but the offerings may be better for vegetarians at lunch than for vegans. Every day, they have at least one vegetarian (often vegan soup) with lunch. Their bagel sandwiches (typically just vegetarian) are so good! The only thing I don't care for is the coffee, but overall, Bagel Central is quite nice.

Pros: large open space; able to sit for a while for meet, Good variety of vegan bagels

Cons: coffee... meh

great for vegetarians; w/a few vegan options

Deeeelicious gazpacho - try it if you like spicy!

Many vegetarian & vegan options: Black bean salad, homemade hummus, tofu cream cheese, avocado sandwich, veggie lentil soup, vegan cheese cake.... Plus several gluten-free bagels.

Friendly staff, cool artsy-Mainer vibe, and they even have two honest-to-goodness phone booths, in case you need a quick superhero changing room.

Pros: vegan options, gluten free options, good space for kids/families
