just a lower-end grocery store - Edit

This seems like a typical lower-budget grocery store. If you’re in Alpine and buying groceries, this is probably the place you’ll stop. There are vegan options in the sense that oranges and almonds are vegan. I don’t want to knock the place, it is what it is, but maybe it shouldn’t be in Happy Cow anymore?

We need an H-E-B!! - Edit

The Baeza's Thritway (Porter's now) Deli has no vegan/veg. The stores have veg options in the freezer case, but the produce is awful. Usually old, sometimes moldy. They hold the fresher stuff in the back, hoping to sell the old stuff first so they don't lose money. There are 2 Porter's in Alpine, so they have a monopoly and overcharge because they can. They charge as much as the health food store in town and that usually isn't the case in bigger cities. A lot of people drive an hour to the Walmart in the next bigger town over. I don't like Walmart, but I don't like Porter's even more. I wish an H-E-B would move in and bulldoze out the 2 stores we now have.

Pros: It's in town

Cons: It is an ugly store, out-dated., WAY too expensive for the quality, MOLDY produce!!!
