They have been around for ages and it's a great place to go, especially on a nice day. Their food is excellent and their staff friendly.

Covers all bases - Edit
Apart from both vegetarian and vegan choices (the latter clearly marked but would be nice if there was more of them), the menu has a sampling of many cuisines so everyone should be kept pretty happy, especially as the food is tasty and well presented. My criticism would be the small serving size of the nasi goreng but the mushroom stroganoff was more substantial. We had a lovely waitress which enhanced the experience.

Vegan options labelled - Edit
Went to the cruelty free shop down the road and stopped here with the magical vegan word. Had a coffee and it's great here, the coffee was delicious. I came back a fortnight later and had the satay tofu burger and my god WOW I recommend it 100% full of flavour and it's amazing.
Read moreMy wife had the big vegan breakfast and she said it was delicious. I tried one of the mushrooms and yes it was good.
Came back in October 2020 and got the tofu scramble wrap. A little heavy on the turmeric but it was nice. Service is always good
.
I recommend the big vegan breakfast if you’re down here that early.
Pros: Good service/ quick , Lots of vegan and vegetarian options, Good variety
Cons: Noisy lol but what cafe isn't

Gone down hill with service and food quality - Edit
I have been going here for several years and used to consider it my favourite places. Recent times I’ve gone though, the quality of some menu items and specials has been so poor I had to send them back to the kitchen and ask for replacement or for it to be taken off my bill. In these cases, they have either refused to take it off the bill or give me a replacement (saying they could bring me a new meal but I would have to pay for both), despite my initial order returning to the kitchen practically untouched due to it not at all being what I was ordering. One example was a risotto in which the rice was undercooked and it was smothered in a mountain of melted cheese and grease, making it a goopy, gluggy, inedible mess. When they told me I still had to pay for it, despite only one bite being taken out of it before I sent it back, that was the last time I went in there... such a shame... it really was a fantastic institution once.

Good portions for a good price - Edit
All vegetarian café with lots of vegan options for breakfast, lunch, dinner and desert. Portion sizes are very good for the prices and quite filling. Rather something for people who like savoury breakfast or lunch.

Lovely vibrant atmosphere- great coffee. Probably wouldn’t eat there again. - Edit
Lovely atmosphere, great coffee. Ordered the zucchini fritters which sounded great but they were undercooked (still battery) and bland.

Not Fancy but Filling - Edit
Ordered the porridge with fruit and sourdough toast w/ peanut butter. With coffee, it hit the spot on a chilly Sydney morning. Not a strictly vegan eatery and appears to have a lot of egg dishes. Nevertheless, vegan dishes are plentiful and clearly marked. $18 AUSD for this morning’s meal.

Delicious Vegetarian food- great value for money - Edit
Rarely do I ever write a review but this little vegetarian eatery/ cafe in Glebe is divine. Great selection of breakfast and lunch. I had the eggplant and ricotta schnitzel which is highly recommended and they have a great selection of cakes. It looks like a popular spot for locals as it was the only restaurant in the area that had a line on 3pm Saturday. A must try is their unique chai tea. Inside is cosy and authentic. They are opened till midnight every day which is a bonus.

Hearty Vegetarian meal - Edit
A very popular corner Cafe in Glebe known for their hearty vegetarian meals. Been around for decades but we keep coming back. Love their vegan breakfast plate and a must try is their house special Chai Tea, it's absolutely authentic. My favourite lunch is their eggplant and risotto filled schnitzel and their curried pie ( both vegetarians). You know the place is good when it's always busy.

great but bit limited for vegans - Edit
I have been here a few times and as a vegetarian would have given it 5 stars. Delicious mains and some really good options like tofu rissoles. Great opening hours.
Read moreAs a vegan it's a bit disappointing as there aren't so many options and this is now pretty glaring when you are how vegan-friendly Glebe and Newtown now are. One time there weren't any vegan desserts or gelato/sorbets! However the last time I was there, more menu choices were available for vegans (I went with 4 others and we only had one double up and some other choices we could have had). So hopefully it's improving.

good food cute atmosphere - Edit
Vegan breakfast and smoothie was good. In a cute area and the vibe and service inside was great. Only thing I didn't like is they put plastic straws in everything including your water. Be sure to ask for no straw lol.

Great lentil burger! - Edit
The lentil Burger was amazing! But the tagine was a bit bland, and they gave me dairy yoghurt with it after I asked for it to be made vegan. Good thing I double checked first.

Limited choice for vegans - Edit
We wanted a vegan brunch and Badde Manors was the nearest place offering this...and the meal was good. However I don't know if we'd go back there much as the rest of the menu had very few vegan options and the place was quite grungy with garbage piled outside the toilet at the back.

great vegan breakfast but surprisingly few vegan breakfast options - Edit
The vegan breakfast was delicious and really varied - mushrooms, tomato, avo, kale, roast pumpkin - but it was the only vegan option except bircher that could be veganised. I expected a vegetarian cafe to have a lot more vegan options.

ok - Edit
Vegan items listed on the menu. I had the moraccan stack, it was overly spiced and not very good. The tofu burger was also a bit bland. I would not go again especially with iku and soul burger nearby.

This place is all vegetarian with quite a few vegan options for mains though not many vegan desserts. All the food I've had there has been tasty and it has long opening hours to satisfy vego restaurant cravings at almost any hour!

Good food but could be more vegan friendly - Edit
I ate here 3 times in the last week as I was staying close by. The first time I had the Moroccan fritter stack, which I very much enjoyed, the second meal I had was the tofu and pine nut rissole bake, which wasn't quite as good but was still enjoyable.
Read moreI also had a hot chocolate and brownie with friends when I had already eaten dinner but they had not. I was disappointed to see that the brownie (while delicious) was the only vegan option out of an extensive range of cakes, and apparently the brownie is always the only option. Also, that time, one of my friends ordered a vegan garlic bread, and ended up not eating it because there were several garlic breads being delivered to the table (only one of which was vegan) and the waitperson had no idea which if any was vegan, and every time we tried to clarify she seemed to think we were asking about whether the bread contained garlic (obviously) and not about the vegan status of the food - frustrating and disappointing.
Pros: Creative and tasty food
Cons: Not all staff understand veganism, Tables for larger groups are difficult, Limited vegan desserts

Great vegan breakfast spot - Edit
I had the vegan breakfast. Loved the generous half of an avocado and the roast potatoes. Lunch and dinner options looked good and had plenty of vegan options. Unfortunately you have to pay 50 cents more for soy or almond milk.

A good range of vegetarian food, but relatively little vegan food, and the quality is fairly average; I can't remember ever seeing vegan desserts. The service is usually good, but not great.

Terrible - Edit
Happy cow won't let me rate this one star (which is what it deserves). Only two vegan options on the breakfast menu, ordered the vegan big breakfast and was so disappointed. Half the items were cold, overall bland food and the scrambled tofu was just chunks of tasteless tofu mixed with capsicum. Attempted to order a vegan iced chocolate but no vegan icecream. We also ordered a frappé which was bitter and tasted like off fruit. Vegan options feel like an afterthought here.

I got the Tagine. It was a huge serving, but it basically just tasted like tinned tomatoes and didn't have many spices in it.
