Amazing selection of sweet and savory pastries, all clearly labelled.
Read moreThey also have two (I believe, maybe more) options for filled baguettes on nice fresh baked bread, one is a schnitzel with a very mildly spiced sauce and the other a falafel.
The pastries are delicious, the filo pastry with spinach especially! The berry pastry is a lovely option for a sweet too.
Coffee machine available and plant milk on offer.

I wish I could give this place 5 stars, the vegan selection is very Rich - mostly savoury treats but also some really delicious sweet pastries as well!

Don’t wait until just before closing! - Edit
Backstube has lots of clearly marked vegan pastries, but they do sell out. If you visit just before closing, you might have one or two options if you’re lucky. I tried the Børek and it was quite good! This is a chain bakery in Norway with lots of locations - so nice to know I had this option in the cities I visited.

A must visit. Everything is labelled vegan or vegetarian if it is and the prices are very reasonable. Everything is fresh and there are lunches and desserts. Yum

This bakery chain was the saviour of our trip! - Edit
We went to Norway and in some places was really difficult to find affordable and good vegan options, so when we discovered Backstube in almost every city we visited, our breakfast and snacks to grab-and-go was there. Really, we were so happy to find this place!
Read moreThey have a bunch of vegan options, and everything tasted sooo good! We went there almost every day during our trip, and our favorites were the vegan Spinach Børek and vegan Vaniljedrøm. We also tried Epledrøm and the cronut, and omg, everything was amazing! I can just recommend it. I already miss it!
