Yummmy and mostly gluten free - Edit
I love this little place and I can't say enough about how yummy it is. Also lot's of choices that vary daily. I especially love that majority of the cakes and pastries are now gluten-free. They change the soft serve out weekly. And there's now a small variety of savory menu as well.

Gluten free vegan bakery...yes - Edit
This place has phenomenal food. Used to go here before they had the restaurant open and would drop a ton of money on pastries to go. Was stoked when they started the restaurant. Pizza is possibly the best gluten free vegan pie I've had, with the now defunct Pizza Research Institute in Eugene being the only other contender.

Loved their Ice Cream - Edit
Lots of bakery goods. They more then doubled the size of the place. Uses earthbalance in most of the pastries and baked goods. Donuts, cookies, cupcakes. Great place to hangout with friends. Large dining room to sit back and enjoy. #iwillbeback

Grilled Cheese Sandwich - Edit
Is it possible for a vegan grilled cheese sandwich to emulate the non-vegan option? I don’t know yet. After a few tries at different places, Back to Eden was the best I had but still far from the non-vegan option, which I really don’t care much about. The sandwich was good. I’m giving 4 stars because it was my first time at this bakery but for what I saw I’ll be coming back.

I am really disappointed today. First I tried calling and no one picked up. I figured they were busy so I just decided to go. I had driven 35 minutes across town, spent another 10 circling to find a parking spot, and when I walked several blocks to finally get there, they told me that the item I wanted wasn’t served until 3. What about the people who want lunch at a regular hour?

All Vegan and Gluten free without sacrificing the taste! This place was so delicious that we had breakfast there twice on our 3 day stay in Portland. It was delicious. Try the biscuits! So buttery and rich I couldn’t believe it was gluten free.

Great brownies but mediocre coffee - Edit
The double chocolate brownie was amazing. Ordered a seasonal pumpkin spice latte that was not steamed properly because it was bland for 90% of the drink and then the bottom was the spice sludge, unmixed into he rest of the latte. You'd only know this after drinking the whole thing (thought it was just bland up tot hat point). Still, when Starbucks does it better, you know you've missed the mark as a non-franchise cafe. Taking a star off for that may seem harsh but really it's not perfect so yeah, 4 stars. Stick with the baked goods and breakfast.

My partner and I ordered a little quiche and a cinnamon roll, as well as a cappuccino and chai with oat milk. The food here is so tasty. Best quiche I’ve ever had. Cinnamon roll ranks very high up there as well. I would highly recommend a visit to this cute little bakery/cafe. They have a whole menu for brunch and lunch too, which I’m sure is amazing. There’s a lot of options in the vegan/gluten free scene here in Portland, so it can be hard to make a choice of where to go. I’d highly recommend making this spot a priority.

I got a breakfast sandwich , biscuit with butter & jam, and pay mylk latte with caramel. All very very delicious. I couldn't finish my plate! Sandwich was full of flavor, biscuit was so warm and fluffy. Add the jam and it's heaven. Coffee set the mood, smooth espresso beans. I got a cinnamon roll to go and I wish I could have gotten more. I'm a sucker for baked goods and this place has loads of options. Would love to come back before I go back home to AZ!

By far the best gluten free baked goods I have had! The cinnamon roll was so moist and decadent and the savory pizza swirl was next level hearty and savory. The staff was so nice and the setting is so light filled and relaxing. Wood love to try their ice cream and food menu as well.

Came to visit Portland for a few days, prior to arriving I had done my research on where to eat. This was one of the places I had chosen beforehand, and wow wow wow I am so happy we came here! Staff is absolutely wonderful, amazing energy, I literally wanted to eat everything. Breakfast sandwich was life, biscuit with jelly - WOW. I wanted to savor every bite of my biscuit. I wish I could take this place back with me to California!

To give you some idea of how fantastic this bit of vegan heaven is, I am actually still here eating! I could not wait to write the review. The variety and quality of this food is beyond compare - and the portions generous. The biscuits and gravy with homemade lentil sausage, roasted potatoes and kale are transcendent. The range of sweet and savory options are overwhelming. This is one of the best restaurants I’ve ever enjoyed and I hope they’re around forever. If you’re visiting Portland, as I am, this is a must-visit.

We were in Portland for a couple days and our airbnb was walking distance to Back to Eden. Great neighborhood to walk through. Lovely place to eat. Such freedom to be able to choose anything on the menu! The first day I got a side of biscuit and gravy and a side of potatoes. This was great because it wasn't too much food, and I could dip my potatoes in the gravy instead of them getting soggy. The biscuit was literally in a bowl of gravy, which was a good thing because it was pretty tough and chewy! The gravy was okay. (I prefer mine to be chunky with onions and mushrooms.) BEST POTATOES of our Portland/Seattle trip, and I ordered potatoes every chance I got. My husband got the Biscuit and Gravy Bowl which came with two biscuits, potatoes, kale, and sausage patty. Huge!

When our food came we recalled how big the bowl was the day before and realized we should have split one bowl! I really enjoyed my hash, but I REALLY enjoyed my husband's chili hash. Delicious flavor there. Share one and save room for more vegan Portland spots!

i go here all the time for breakfast - i love their biscuits and gravy bowl and their breakfast sandwich. i also come here often for lunch to enjoy the mac and cheese bowl. nice atmosphere, the servers are always friendly and you can get a fantastic milk shake next door (or in the cafe now that they opened the wall between the two!)

So much variety! And so so much to choose from. I went with the breakfast biscuit burger and it was absolutely delicious. The biscuit added a nice sweet taste to the more salty taste of the patty and cheese making a lovely savory meal. I am so happy I stopped by. Staff were AMAZING! Very friendly and very helpful. They gave great recommendations and stopped by to make sure I had everything I needed.
