Served me dairy cheese but insisted it was vegan

I ordered the mushroom pasta bake which on the menu said it could be made vegan, which I checked twice with the waitress. When it came it had very obviously vegan cheese on top (Violife as it’s quite yellow). After eating some of the dish I realised in the pasta sauce itself there was stringy, white mozzarella cheese. I queried this with waitress who checked with the chef and reassured us it was vegan cheese. I am vegan and have not eaten dairy for many years and have never seen stringy vegan cheese like this. We even asked what brand of vegan cheese was used, which they replied it was Violife - it was clearly a pre made dish with vegan cheese added on top, as the cheese inside the sauce was a completely different colour and texture. We raised this again and was then told then there was no cheese at all in the sauce. I ended up being quite unwell in the restaurant with bad stomach cramps. We approached a different waitress who was very apologetic and removed the charge for the meal from the bill, however said the chef still insisted it did not contain dairy. The chef did not even come out to speak to us, leaving the waiting staff to uncomfortably apologise.

Limited vegan options

They were out of vegan cheese so we couldn’t have pizza and the other main course options were limited. We really enjoyed the avocado bruschetta but the risotto and garlic bread (which only arrived after a length wait) were both rather bland. Also, they didn’t have any non-dairy milk for hot drinks which in this day and age was surprising! I wouldn’t bother visiting again.

Pros: Some vegan options, Located by the seafront

Cons: Not all vegan, No non-dairy milk

Really tasty vegan pizza and a side of chips. Really friendly and helpful staff.

I think their menu needs to be VE for vegan and V for vegetarian as it is in most places. More vegan mains would be great or the option to veganise more.

But overall a nice experience

Pros: They had a selection of vegan options

Cons: Their menu has VE as the vegetarian options , V for vegan options which might be confusing

Limited vegan options but VERY good

There were some interesting options available to vegans including the aubergine steaks (which were delicious). I also had the avocado bruschetta which had sooo much avocado on it, and looked beautiful. There were also some specials on the board which were vegan. I will definitely come again for the other options. My only issue is that I would like more to try!

Pros: Delicious, attractive and interesting food, Good portion sizes, Great staff - very friendly

Cons: Would be great to have a few more vegan options
