This place has some really yummy south Indian curries. I've been going there for years and the curries on a thali plate often change. Good dosas and samosas too.

We had takeaway from here and there were plenty of clearly marked options. The samosa were delicious. We also had little hollow balls that you fill with the given fillings - they were great for something different! Also had the potato masala which was yummy and a nice coconut vegetable dish.

Such delicious and filling Indian food. We have eaten in twice and once they served us a shared plate with a white sauce. I checked to ensure it was vegan and it had to be taken back because it was not. So just need to mindful, but mistakes happen and it was fixed.

Delicious vegan options - Edit
We are regulars at Babaji’s and love the food here. Many options from dosa to green lentil Dahl. There’s nowhere else for Indian food in the hills that serves the consistent quality of this restaurant.

The food was reasonable and well priced, a good option for a quick bite to eat. However, I don't know who the owner is but last time I walked past, there was a blonde haired, middle-aged white lady treating one of the Indian staff members horribly. The way she was talking, she seemed like a manager or owner. The poor staff member was humiliated for making a simple mistake and then after he walked away she trash talked him to some other white customers sitting outside and they laughed at his expense. It all felt a bit racist and just plain rude if you ask me. So now I'm not quite sure if I want to support this business anymore.

Hi Bonisaurus, Billy here (the blonde haired owner you were referring to). Firstly, my apologies for the delay in responding to this - as I only came across it today. That's a really horrible thing for you and the staff member to experience and I can't help but wonder what was happening on that day. Perhaps I had a very bad day. Perhaps the Indian you were referring to who I spoke badly too - was my husband (ever tried working with your husband!). Three months after the event, I genuinely don't know. What I do know though, is that we love our staff at Babajis and have very little staff turnover and treat them like family. Many of our staff have not long been in Australia, and have greater challenges than many - we always spend significant time with them helping them to find housing and navigating Australian life. I don't know what you saw on that day, but it certainly wasn't the usual. Its impossible to say much more other than to apologise for any uncomfort you felt. Billy

The samosa we ordered as a starter was excessively oily, the dahl on the curry and chips was bland with soggy chips, and the dosa was burnt. I've eaten here once before and had a reasonable meal but today's was not good.

Really yummy food and generous portions. Staff are very nice and look after you. No roti for vegans unfortunately😒but nonetheless a good selection of vegan dishes marked on menu.
