Used to be great -- now not so much!

Bab El Salam used to be an above average place under the old ownership. The food tasted freshly prepared and the prices were reasonable. Since the new owner's took over they've turned the food into an exact copy of every other average falafel and shawarma place in town. It's not bad but it's not great anymore and they've put in a buffet (which means substandard steam table food like every other similar restaurant in the area) and raised the prices so that it's actually more expensive than similar buffets in the area. They claim the higher price is justified because they offer more options but that hasn't been my experience -- and the few additional buffet options are often not vegan. So you're paying more and getting substandard quality.

Such a hidden gem

Everything here is so flavorful! The lentil soup is not vegan, unfortunately, but what is vegan is amazing.

Pros: Falafel wrap is so yummy, Affordable
