Excellent Food! - Edit
The food was all high quality and tasted very fresh. We got the tofu scramble, avocado salad, spinach pie, sour cherry kombucha and lentil soup. All great, but my favorite was definitely the spanikopita (spinach pie)!

Had the seitan kofta tofu on my way out of town. The harissa sauce perked it up a bit but ultimately I found it to be pretty bland, watery, and undersalted. Either I went on an off day or people are grading on the vegan curve.

Favorite Restaurant in Pittsburgh - Edit
We’ve been eating here 3 times a week on average. Staff is wonderful and helpful. Week nights we usually get the Moghrabieh w/Kofta and a side of Fried Cauliflower off the Mezze portion of the menu. On the weekends our favorites are the Tofu Scramble and the Sourdough Buckwheat Pancakes. If you enjoy Lattes the Cafe Rico is sure to please!

Great vegan Mediterranean food - Edit
We both ordered their sandwiches (more like large wraps) and enjoyed them. Both were full of lots of greens/slaw. Having split a bowl of lentil soup first, we each saved half of the sandwich for later, but if we had gotten just the sandwich we would have been satisfied by the good sized portions. Lentil soup was delicious and the homemade kombucha is quite good too. If you are looking for spicy, the harissa wasn't hot at all but I didn't miss it thanks to the spices used in the food. Overall great spot and glad we visited.

Great Vegan Breakfast - Edit
We had breakfast here and loved everything. Blueberry pancakes were among the best we've ever had. Tofu scramble with a simulated ground meat was also excellent. Great coffee and baked goods; the cinnamon rolls were especially fun.

I come here every time I'm in Pittsburgh, today I had for brunch a fabulous broccoli and 'cheese' soup together with toast piled with the best cashew cheese, a mouth-watering olive tapenade and tomato, plus one of their signature lattkes (like a hash brown). And their blood orange with basil, and their tamarind sodas, are superb.

I'm obsessed with this place. High quality ingredients. Everything is made from scratch. Best falafel ever. Best baba on the continent. Coffee is awesome. Kombucha wasn't my thing...UNTIL I tried it here on tap. This place impresses me more every time I go. Best of all - the whole place is vegan!

Vegan Delight - Edit
My SO and I ate here one Sunday while in Pittsburgh. There are no strictly vegan restaurants where I live, so I'm always happy to find one when out and about. He had the tofu scramble and I had babaganouj and the cashew cheese flatbread. It was all delicious. We sat at the communal table and the other diners were so friendly. We had a great experience. The truffles and desserts looked delicious too but we were too stuffed to try any. We'll be back for that though. Highly recommend checking this place out.

Best Vegan food we had in Pittsburgh - Edit
Although this place is small, it came through with great vegan vittles. There were only 2 seats left at lunch time when we arrived. I had the scrambled tofu (which came with 2 latkes (potato pancakes) and sauted kale and shiitake mushrooms.) while my wife had baba ganoush, falafels and fried cauliflower with pita. We both agreed that the tofu scramble was the better of the two, but enjoyed all the food as the best vegan we had in Pittsburgh.

Best Meal in Pittsburgh - Edit
I was really blown away by my dinner at B52. I had expected to like it as I always enjoy this style cuisine and it is often quite vegan friendly as-is, but this was amazing. My husband and I ordered way too much food and devoured it all. We started by splitting the fried cauliflower with tahini sauce and the labneh (fermented cashews, mint, za'tar) with pita. The labneh in particular was fabulous. I have never had the non-vegan version, but this was so good.
Read moreWe also split the seitan kabob plate and the cashew cheese flat bread. The seitan in particular was very well seasoned and fantastic, but everything was very good. We were too full for dessert, but they had chocolates and cake available.
Pros: Food is fantastic, Great takes on traditionally non-vegan dishes

Great Experience and Atmosphere - Edit
I spent part of an afternoon/evening studying and enjoying the B-52 Cafe. The staff was so friendly and helpful. I'm not vegan, but my boyfriend is. I personally love cheese, so that has been the biggest food that I "miss." The cashew cheese here is amazing. Seriously. I bought some to take home because it was so lovely. I ordered one of their pitas and enjoyed it immensely.
Read moreThe other cool thing that they have is house made sodas and flavored kombucha.

Elegant Comfort - Edit
Amazing Sunday brunch! We shared the Tofu Kafta Scramble and from the Mezze menu: Fried Cauliflower, Labneh, and Falafel. We couldn't be happier. But next time we come through town, maybe we will get all 6 items on the Mezze menu. The coffee is delicious, and so is the Cafe Rico, an almond milk latte with cinnamon and orange. I also asked them to wrap us up a couple vegan truffles for later.
