Still the Best Vegan options in Tunis - Edit
New Executive Chef Alessandro from Jan 2020 onwards is ensuring vegan guests (and walk-in restaurant visitors/customers) get 5* food and walk out fulfilled and deliciously satisfied!
Read moreWe were here in 2018 when previous chef Omar did the same and even created a Vegan menu for us regulars and others. Now I'm not sure they kept that dedicated Vegan menu but when you show up ..toss aside the normal menu and let them know you're dietary preferences. After that prepare to be amazed; and you might even talk to the amazing Chef Alessandro yourself and get his recommendations.
FYI on Sundays they have Sunday brunch which features delicious dips, beetroot creamy hummus and even Vegan sushi available so be sure to check that out too; we do.
Pros: Always a fantastic meal, Nice views with your meal of the Sea available, friendly
Cons: pricey to local standards, no dedicated vegan menu

Elegant vegan food in Tunis - Edit
I would give this restaurant five stars if I could (the app will only let me give four... Maybe because it's not a fully vegan restaurant? If so, it's a shame in this case, since my understanding is that there's no such thing as a fully vegan restaurant in Tunisia).
Read moreThe food from the dedicated vegan menu is truly wonderful, and I really appreciate that Chef Omar has created it. I understand it to be the first and only vegan menu in all of Tunisia. This is very significant. Though there are many wonderful incidentally vegan dishes in Tunisia, very few people know what vegetarianism is here, let alone veganism; most think a dish with tuna or chicken will qualify. This makes ordering as a vegan very difficult. Even using the Vegan Passport app and explaining in detail our restrictions still didn't change this, and each time we ordered, no matter how carefully we explained, we were very likely to receive a meal with animal products of some kind. It's just not a concept that exists here yet, and so it was so nice to be able to order with confidence from the vegan menu here at Four Seasons and receive wonderfully prepared fully vegan dishes.
Tonight, Chef Omar introduced himself after our server let him know that we had asked for the vegan menu. He came to our table and offered to make us a custom, largely off-menu, multi-course vegan meal. Of course, we accepted and enjoyed a beautifully presented, fresh, extremely delicious dinner, one of the best we have ever had. I have posted pictures of everything he served us. Such a delight in every way possible.
Pros: Dedicated vegan menu
Cons: Expensive by Tunisian standards

Best vegan options in Tunis! - Edit
Tunis is a great place to visit but vegetarian options are limited - I mostly ate vegetable cous cous. So finding the four seasons have a vegan menu was a great surprise. There are many options and even a delicious carrot and pistachio cake. The service is also fantastic

4-page Vegan Menu!!! - Edit
Went there several times for lunch recently as we live in La Marsa, regional suburb of Tunis, the Capital. Talked to Marie, the restaurant manager about my suggestions of implementing a Vegan menu / more options and was delighted to get a professional response from her. Also met Omar, the head chef a couple times who was delighted to create a local/intl 4-page all Vegan menu. Omar also indicated that he'd be willing to create custom Vegan food aside from that menu if for example you'd like pasta, risotto or something else. Their Raw Vegan fruit plate with dry ice is so COOL, go get it! Lunch is 12:30 to 3:30pm and dinner starts at 6;30pm to 11pm

Cons: Four seasons Hotel is new. May have to direct taxi
