I spent a day in Cadiz and wait hopefully to eat there, but finally the restaurant wasn´t there. I felt disappointed and it wasn´t easy to eat in that city for a vegan
Ay Carmela is a nice little restaurant with about 10 vegetarian tapas. The caramelised onion triangles were very nice, as were the lentil burgers and the mushroom croquettes. All the tapas are served with rice or couscous and salad with carrots and a dressing. I didn't like the (obviously store-bought) dressing much, so it was too bad it was used excessively. Our waitress was really friendly and she was patient with our attempts at Spanish. The tapas are pretty cheap and since they're not a lot of vegetarian options in Cadiz it is worth checking out Ay Carmela.
