Serves meat, vegan options available. Ethiopian food in the Sherbrooke area. Yemisir wot (split red lentils) and the large veggie combo consisting of different vegetarian dishes are vegan. Shiro wot (spicy chickpeas) can be ordered vegan. Get your meal with rice or injera. Serves free food for the homeless on the first Thursday of the month. Open Mon-Thu 11:30am-10:00pm, Fri-Sat 11:30am-11:00pm, Sun 11:30am-8:00pm.

Fantastic food, friendly staff and great coffee. Had the veggie platter.

Great serving sizes, lots of delicious options. If the app would allow 5 stars, I would give it 6.

OK Ethiopian

They have a vegan platter that is good, but not the best Ethiopian food i've had. Langano skies is the go to for Edmonton vegan Ethiopian.

Pros: large portions

Amazing veggie options available!

I seriously wish I could eat here everyday, but I try to at least order the veggie combo once or twice a month. It is around $18 for the platter but it’s a lot of food! I love everything on the platter — from the fresh salad, flavourful beetroot, cabbage and potatoes to the delicious lentil and chickpea stews. It is heathy, hearty and very filling. I order mine with injera bread, and have always been able to request extra injera on the side with no additional charge. The restaurant itself is family-run by a group of wonderful individuals. Owner Lamu has spoke about his own refugee experience and the commitment Awash has for offering free meals once a month to anyone in need of one. Love that a new, small restaurant has taken it upon themselves to offer what they can to the community and honestly the food is just as amazing! One of my favourite restaurants for sure, and on my side of town so I’m able to order through skipthedishes too.
