Absolutely delicious, but scumbag pricing

The good: it’s a cute little spot with the best hummus around. The falafel is delightfully crunchy and fresh, and a large portion of the menu is vegan.

The bad: wow the pricing at this place is scummy. My bowl of hummus and 1 pita is $18, and each additional pita is $2 (hint: a single pita isn’t enough to enjoy the hummus bowl). Want hot sauce? Pay for it. Getting take out? There’s a new 10% mandatory service charge, which isn’t made clear anywhere (service charge for take out is crazy).

The insane pricing makes this a special occasion for me, rather than a usual lunch spot. At the end of the day, it’s really this 10% take-out service charge. Service workers absolutely deserve their tips, but this needs to be a clearly-stated policy from the restaurant, rather than hidden fee tacked on under the “tax” line.

Pros: Delicious

Cons: Pay for every little thing, including hot sauce, Portions do not justify prices, Dumb service charge on take-out

Exceptional Hummus

Hummus Pitriot - with roasted mushrooms on top - is easily the best hummus I've ever had. The fluffy pitas taste amazing, the falafel is crumbly and the side sauces taste great as well. The Limonana, which is a Lemon Mint Slushie, is perfect on a warm day.

Best falafel in Seattle

My partner had the falafel sandwich and said it was the best falafel he’s had in Seattle! The hummus was creamy and worked well in the sandwich, but tried a small side of it and it was it was bland on its own. The pita was super fluffy—would highly recommend if you prefer a fluffy pita.

We also tried the hatzilim (fried eggplant) and gehzer (marinated carrots). The eggplant had great flavor but was a little too rich for us.

Side note, the menu does not mark items specifically as vegan/containing meat so it can make ordering difficult if you’re not familiar with each dish.

Edit: We still think this is some of the best falafel in Seattle, but we’ve tried their hummus and masabacha, and they’re so bland. It helps to add tatbila and harissa, but I cannot recommend the hummus here unless you like it without any flavor. Everything else is great.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , Good falafel

Cons: Mostly street food, not much of a meal, No vegan egg, Hummus has no flavor

Hidden gem

I definitely agree that this is the best falafel in seattle. It was amazing! I ordered the falafel plate and fried eggplant. Everything on the plate was fantastic. I love their style of pita too. The fried eggplant, on the other hand, was dripping in grease. I’ll definitely just go with falafel next time.

A Top Seattle Dining Experience

I can’t believe this eatery had only three years, prior to this post, since 2019.
The food preparation here puts a unique spin on the falafel; whether that’s due to it being an Israeli approach or the owner’s unique flair, I don’t know.

What I do know is we were WOWed by out first visit here. The sabich pita was different than anything I’d experienced at a felafel eatery; the fried eggplant was sumptuous and the amba sauce was a unique finishing touch with its spicy mango recipe. The traditional pita falafel was anything but typical: the falafel balls were spicy in a good way and popped owing to the garlic.

And the best part was the pita bread, thick, spongy and so fresh.

This was one of our favorite eating experiences on this visit to the city.

Pros: Unique falafel recipes , Wonderful sauces, Excellent service.

True Israeli food in Seattle

First off, almost everything is vegan, I’d say about 90% of the menu. The food is so fresh, so simple, so filling and truly exemplifies the mezze style of the Middle East. The falafel is crunchy on the outside and pillowy in the center. The pita my wife says she could sleep on. The fried eggplant was crisp and perfectly seasoned. The tahina was the best I’ve ever had and the masa ache was out of this world. Stop reading this and go.

Pros: Simply incredible food

Cons: I can’t give this 5 stars

Our family’s favorite restaurant!!!

Everything here is super fresh and perfectly made. Almost everything is vegan. My kids didn’t even like hummus before we came here and Aviv is now their favorite restaurant. We love the lemony garlic dish, the mushroom dish, the roasted eggplant dish, and of course the falafel.

Pros: Lots of vegan options , All food is very fresh and made for that day only, Fun and inviting atmosphere

Authentic Hummus!

As someone who lived in Israel I can tell you this is the real deal! Hummus and falafel is the best in the city. Falafel balls are fluffy yet crunchy... a true experience!
