Serves meat, vegan options available. Can make many dishes vegan by not adding cheese or meat. One of the items on the menu is Doreen's Vegan Pizza. Has a small wood-fired oven. St. Michael's is a small, busy tourist town and this is the only place in town that has the word "Vegan" on the menu. NOTE: Order service is reported to be unreliable. Open Mon-Thu 11:30am-9:30pm, Fri-Sat 11:30am-10:00pm, Sun 11:30am-9:30pm. Kitchen closes at 9:30 pm

Only One Vegan Option - Edit
Ava no longer offers vegan pizza which is a disappointment. It would be helpful if the staff was better informed but they are willing to ask the kitchen for more information. The salad that is vegan is tasty but small.

They no longer have a specific vegan pizza on the menu but you can easily order one without the cheese. I’ve done that many times and it’s excellent. They have a quinoa bowl that’s vegan. Pricey at $20 but tasty. Fries and homemade potato chips can’t be beat. Love them with Old Bay seasoning. Nice wine and beer selection.

Good vegan pizza - Edit
They have one vegan option at their restaurant and that is the 'seasonal veggie pizza'. It is not labeled vegan, we had to ask. The toppings we had were a sundried tomato base, summer squash, onion, carrot, and roasted garlic. It was just fine!

I'm a fan of Ava's Pizzeria - Edit
St. Michaels, MD has been my second home for over 30 years, and I was thrilled when Ava's opened a few years ago. I have eaten there numerous times and the food is always excellent. Although I am not a Vegan, their Vegan Pizza is my go-to order. I love it. They have other great vegetarian pizzas, including the Onion Tart, and also soups and pastas. Fantastic beer and wine selection. The interior is very casual, nothing super-special, but cozy. ALWAYS busy -- even during the week, which shows you how popular Ava's is, given that St Michaels is a small town when the tourists clear out on Sunday night!
