Set on 95 hectares of original Bargo Brush, the sanctuary is home to cultural heritage relics and is a living memorial to conservationist and educator, David George Stead, husband of sanctuary founder Dr Thistle Stead {Harris}. The property on which it's located is known locally as Wirrimbirra: it includes a small gift shop and a cafe that has some vegan pantry items. Online bookings only. Open Sat-Sun 10:00am-4:00pm.

Amazing setup! - Edit
We were all totally blown away with what has been achieved here since they have rebuilt.
Read moreLovely homes for the rescued animals, and an all-vegan (except dairy milk for coffee) cafe. Even the ice cream fridge is all vegan options.
Note that the adjoining Dingo Sanctuary is separate, and you have to book ahead to visit that due to their COVID restrictions.
Pros: Brilliant friendly passionate staff, Amazing vegan food haven in Wollondilly, And they rescue animals too!
Cons: Still serving dairy milk, but that's all, Not all the animals are back yet. More soon!

The most tranquil place to sit and enjoy nature the birds chirping, the frogs singing there song by the pond.

Peaceful view with a delicious lunch - Edit
If your looking for a peaceful lunch while visiting some Australian wildlife this place is for you!!! So very welcoming and friendly, supporting a local family. The meals are plant based and cater to allergies for my gluten intolerant son. The meat pies are delicious and flaky and the coffees are even better!
