Wonderful food and exceptionally friendly staff, a perfect location for us and a cosy place to come to in the evenings. We are here every day of our visit to Berlin! :)
The schnitzel & potatoes I had was large & quite tasty!
I ate from the menu rather than the buffet - vegan options aren't marked, but one can generally tell from the ingredients listed. The staff are also happy to inform you
I love finding veggie/vegan specific restaurants, and Aurora did not disappoint. My boyfriend and I visited back in June and if I remember correctly, I had a tofu schnitzel with this amazing mushroom sauce, which was such an interesting twist on a German classic. If I find myself in Berlin again I would definitely return.
Pros: Range of food!, Location is great, Clean and inviting
Cons: Could have maybe had better selection of desserts, n/a, n/a
I accidentally stumbled into this place. Will come back. It serves tasty, spicy (not hot) meals with creativity. Simply outstanding. I have never tasted aubergines this way and it's still a miracle how they can stay so crispy although well cooked. Perfect 5.
I went to Aurora a few weeks after it must have opened earlier this summer. The waitress was very friendly and told me that the owner used to run a Thai restaurant in this location, and decided to try out something new - a vegetarian restaurant, because it was kind of trendy! At first I was very confused when I entered, because its bistro-style looked very much like Seerose, the veg. restaurant that also used to be on Mehringdamm, but it is simply a copy/competitor (and Seerose has moved). There are options with cheese and without. The vegan meal was fine, maybe not totally otherworldly, but as a lunch place (which I think this place intends to be), it was ok. Still a bit of room for development when it comes to the details of vegan meals - more flavour can never hurt. But: it was fine. Probably cheaper than the competition around the corner.
