Increíble - Edit

Me gusto muchísimo el servicio, el lugar y la comida. Es mi lugar favorito. La aplicación lo marca como lugar vegetariano pero es un lugar 100%vegano.

Edible but underwhelming and overpriced food - Edit

Went there with a bunch of non-vegans and it was so disappointing. Their burgers are awful, especially the mushroom burger, just a huge portobello mushroom, barely cooked, stuffed in a bun. The two things we liked were the sopes and the taquitos, they were ok. So many other good vegan places to choose from!

Nice vegan place - Edit

This is my go to place when I'm in the area, and I was surprised to read a review here stating that they used some animal products, so I recently asked them about that and they told me that at some point they served a non-vegan milk brand and they no longer do, and assured me it's all vegan now. In fact they told me anyone who's interested can have a tour of the kitchen so they can check for themselves, so it seems to me somewhere worth supporting, especially since there are so few vegan places in the area.
Service is always great, and their chorizo sopes, jamaica taquitos and aura soda are yummy.

Pros: Good prices , Friendly service

Cons: Plastic containers for take away, Their seats are not the comfiest

NOT Vegan just vegetarian - Edit

Beware of this place, I saw someone mention they weren't vegan and it turns out its true.
The milks they use are NOT vegan.
I was there this past weekend and saw them clearly on display.
I ask the waitress if its used in the food and she confirmed that they are in the smoothies and deserts.

Here's the thing that infuriated me.
They know its not vegan.

I told them they should tell people about it and her reply was, you can drink it or you can not drink it.
She didn't care.

Obviously this is just an employee and they are just doing what their boss tells them.

This is not a trustworthy place.

Cons: Not vegan, Lies, Don't really know whats in your food

hakunapatata 11 Sep 2017 - Hi Tofruity, is the non-vegan milk you're referring to on this picture you posted? https://www.happycow.net/reviews/aura-vegana-mexico-city-83523/images#&gid=1&pid=18
Because all of the cartons I see there are clearly labeled as vegan milk (from left to right: coconut, almond, soya, light soya and soya)
Maybe there was a misunderstanding with a non-english speaking waitress? This is my go-to place in the south of the city and I've been assured all of their products are vegan, so I figured I'd mention that here.

Tofruity 14 Sep 2017 - Are you sure you aren't a friend of the owner that's lying to customers? cause those don't say vegan anywhere on them which is very clear in the photo and the company themselves has also admitted that they are not vegan, this is why other restaurants have removed them.
Its a known fact that GUD and Boulder are not vegan, they're possibly owned by a dairy company as well, its easy to find photos of them together with Bove.

The waitress actually spoke perfect english.

Of course they're going to tell you its all vegan, why would they not want people to give them money?

You should stop spreading falsehoods

hakunapatata 12 Oct 2017 - I really don't get why you feel you have to take offense about me asking more about your experience to get the full picture, or worse, accuse me of being friends with the owner when you know absolutely nothing about me.

I go there often, I don't know the owners, and FYI knowing anyone wouldn't change a thing in my approach. It's my own priority to make sure I avoid food that isn't vegan, which is why I asked them after reading your review, and they told me they in fact used to serve those brands but no longer do, and that anyone is welcome to have a tour of their kitchen to check for themselves there are no animal products.
You said "of course they're going to tell you its all vegan, why would they not want people to give them money?". They owned up to using non-vegan products to you at the time, didn't they? There are few vegan places as it is, and they can do without misinformation.

I will be fully appreciative of anyone tipping off when someone is trying to pass anything as vegan, but I will be just as eager to speak up when someone is making and spreading false claims, so I think it's really uncalled for that you say that is what I'm doing.

It seems that much aggressiveness and readiness to attack instead of being willing to have a dialogue is why some people avoid vegans, it really doesn't help the cause that a lot of us out there care about. Not everything is a big conspiracy and you don't have to be angry and suspicious about absolutely everyone.

Vegan in Coyoacán - Edit

I arrived at this restaurant hungry and ready to try several dishes. First was the licuado of orange, papaya and coconut. Tasty and refreshing! Then I ordered both "enveganada" dishes, which were delicious and large in portion. Both came with 3 tortillas filled with their respective fillings and topped with what tasted like a nut-based cotija-type cheese. One dish was filled with black beans and drenched in a tasty tomato-based sauce with pickled onions on top; the other dish was filled with corn and squash and topped with a delicious black bean sauce and thinly-sliced raw onions. Finally, I ordered a dish of sautéed veggies on top of coconut rice. All of the food was yummy, albeit a bit pricey. The staff was attentive and helpful and the interior seems very clean. This place is near where I'm staying, so I'm sure I'll go back!

Pros: all vegan , cozy and clean

Cons: pricey

Wow. The food was out of this world good. Got the burrito and the burger and they were absolutely delicious!! Mostly whole plant based foods, and the flavor and presentation very unique and one of a kind. Good portions and good service. Server spoke some English. Also got the almond milk, date, coffee smoothie. Very delicious and creamy. Also got the vegan creme Brule. Amazing. Please go here when in Coyoacan.
