Skip it

The "kitchen" consists of a toaster oven and a counter top. It is a unique dining experience and one I only had once. The "experience" is more about being able to tell people you ate in a meal in a sex shop than the quality of the food.

Cons: food, doesn't seem hygienic

I wanted to like this place but...

I just couldn't. The atmosphere was certainly NOT hygienic, especially with the dog sitting at your feet. It might be "homey" (not my home, fortunately), but it's not a pleasing restaurant experience. The [censored] crap was humorous, but not appetizing at all. I suppose they must do both to pay the bills. The food was mediocre at best, and the service was slow with very meager selection. I have to give some points for staying relatively cruelty-free, but that's it.

Pros: Vegetarian fare

Cons: Filthy, POOR selection, Slow service

its a bar not cafe

This place, other than being a sex shop, which is fine by me, is really a bar that has a few options for food. When running a bar in Oregon, OLCC rules stipulate that food must be served. The food is almost secondary (or tertiary here behind the sex and booze). The first thing I noticed here was not the toys and decor, which was done in a manner that is humorous, not offensive, but the smell that had to be cat urine. There was some antique furniture, which is cool of that's your motif, but not if it has been soiled. It took 20 minutes to adjust to the smell. Luckily(?) it took 20 minutes to get served. And when I say served, it was not w a menu. They have 3 options which they make behind the bar. A hummus wrap, a grilled cheese and something else (Mex tofu?). Not too thrilling. Alas, the hummus severely upset my stomach. I really wanted to like this place, I thought it sounded like a lot of fun. It is however a sex shop w a bar inside that serves a vegan wrap, a cheese samich and something else. The juice they serve is for mixed drinks. Next time, I will just power through to the next stop, or eat pb in the car.

Delicious and One of a Kind

My husband and I are biking the West Coast and stopped in Lincoln City after a long day of cycling. We were stoked to find Aunt Mary's here on happycow and hastened to check it out.

Aunt Mary's is a one of a kind place. Part vegetarian restaurant, part sex shop, it was unlike anywhere we'd ever been. Aunt Mary herself welcomed us in, asked us if we were vegan or vegetarian, then told us the offerings off the top of her head.

She walked back behind the counter, where she had a stove, and started cooking everything up. She told us there was a lot to see and we should look around, and we gladly obliged. After browsing the entertaining knick knacks and stickers, we returned to our table. Aunt Mary brought over a bowl of soup, which was incredible. We finished it off quickly and looked around some more while she cooked up the entrees. I had the hummus wrap, which was quite tasty, and my husband had the special, which had hummus, a quinoa salad, tofu pate, and awesome barbecued baked beans.

We liked it so much we came back again the next day and were equally impressed. If you let the somewhat risque setting deter you, you'll be missing out on some of the tastiest vegetarian food Oregon has to offer.

Pros: Great Food, Unique, Good Value

. . . and now for something completely different

We found Lincoln City uninteresting but Aunt Mary's was interesting. The restaurant was not busy and Aunt Mary (I assumed) was very friendly and the sandwiches and beer were good. I suppose one could argue that sex and food don't mix but we just wanted to eat so it made little difference to us. Much ado about nothing me thinks.

Pros: good food, friendly/helpful

BEST VEGI FOOD ON THE OREGON COAST!

I play in a touring band, and being a vegetairian on the road is a hard thing to do. Aunt Marys is by far the best place to get all orgainc vegetarian & vegan food on the Oregon Coast.
I know everyone who works there personaly, and they are the nicest, and most down to earth people I'v ever met.
Im think those other people might just be some CRANKY VEGAN A-HOLES!

AUNT MARYS IS THE BEST!

KEEP IT FILTHY!

Pros: Great food!, Great people!, Great atmosphere!

Great Place!

My boyfriend and I made our first visit to Lincoln City as vegans and so were looking for new places to try. We found Aunt Mary's on this website and decided to try it. It was difficult to find but totally worth it. The place has a cool funky style- yes there are vibrators in one corner of the room, but there are other pictures and art too. The walls are carpet and the floor is cheetah print. The food was tasty and homemade. The soup was a carrot bisque and extremely tasty. My boyfriend and I are usually pretty conservative- we don't drink or do anything illegal- but we thought this place was great. We laughed through dinner and had some great conversations with Aunt Mary. It was great that nobody under the age of 18 was allowed in there- not even babies! No crying children to talk over! It was not gross or distasteful- more of a place to enjoy vegan food in a grown-up setting. There are some funny knick-knacks for sale and I even bought my baby niece a couple of funny onesies there. I don't know why people are so offended by this place. I will definitely return when I'm in town again.

Pros: Tasty food, Funky atmosphere, No kids!

Cons: Hard to find

A unique vegetarian restaurant, to say the least

This place is best described as eclectic with no boundaries. Kind of a cross between Grandma's house, and the creepy guy next door. Nestled among the small shops in Lincoln City near the beach is a vegetarian restaurant that you won't forget. We are both vegans, and for some reason, everyone in Lincoln City seems to crinkle their nose when they say "vegan", and not a single store carries vegan soy cheese. This place was a pleasant surprise, and we really enjoyed our visit. Now the disclaimer - be ready to keep an open mind and walk in with a sense of humor. Although you may find an occasional adult toy displayed amongst the embroidery and nun dolls, the "vibrator museum" is just another joke to keep things light. As long as you avoid the back room labeled "filthy", and leave your kids outside as you get take-out, you'll have a great time. We ordered the Mexi Wrap and a Taco Salad, and it was the best meal we've had during our entire vacation. The host/waiter/chef was very nice and washed his hands twice that we counted. Very clean, gracious, and fun.

Pros: Unique, Fun, Tasty

Cons: No Children

Totally Unique Experience

Okay, so this isn't the *best* veggie food, I've ever had, but it was easily within the range of "good." Why 5 Happy Cows then? You will never visit another restaurant like this. When in Oregon, visit Aunt Mary's for good food and a great time.

Pros: Fun, Unique

unappetizing

Was unable to try the food because I was so off- put by the atmosphere. It was like I was in my kid brothers garage. I am no prude, but this place was not only dirty but the so called "museum" was more like a smoke shop in a red light district. Now this Aunt Mary may have a way with her skillet but it's unfortunate for us travelers that the only people that will be enjoying this meal will be the creeps that frequent the place.
