Au Lac - Duong Lang

I came here for lunch. My idea of entering through the washing up area, taking off my shoes, put me off. No menu as previously mentioned, they make up a plate Com Suat (mixture of rice in the middle with mock looks like animal parts around the rice is not what i like. The ambience and general decor not to my liking. Left. Unable to make comments. Let the diners here make own comments.

Difficult to find, the map places it wrong. It is down a small alley, after two bends. A tiny place that looks more like someone's home than a restaurant. No English was spoken. The lady had us take off our shoes before entering, and did not provide a menu even when asked, offering us only vegetarian phơ. The cleanliness seemed suspect so we opted not to order.

Set dishes, good Pho

initially disappointed when only offered a very small selection of foods from the extensive menu. Was the only person there at 3pm on a Thursday....staff was sleeping across the chairs which is fine with me at that time of day. Female staff member very nice and managed to make me a special meal of rice, vegetables and mushrooms. Not a drop of oil used which was great and it all tasted superb. Vegetable soup was also very tasty and both cost 35000 or about USD 1.50

I would return.
