Good vegan options! - Edit
Was happy to try this place for lunch today. Loved that they have a separate vegan menu with lots of variety. Many things sounded appealing. The food we ordered was all very tasty and the staff were friendly and knowledgeable about plant-based foods. Good price for what we got. It would be nice if they offered the vegan menu (or even indicated that one exists!) without customers needing to specifically request it though.

Great place to lunch! - Edit
On a day trip to Rotorua our vegan family of 3 went to have lunch at Atticus Finch and it was excellent. They have a separate vegan menu and there was that much choice that we all went for different dishes. My son had the child jackfruit tacos, I had the mushroom, tofu and chilli bao and my husband had the a beetroot hummus with homemade crackers. Only my husband was a little bit disappointed that the hummus was cold. Great place for vegans!

Elegant Vegan Options - Edit
This is an extremely popular restaurant and for good reason, the food is imaginative, elegantly presented, and delicious. Reservations recommended. Although they were incredibly busy when we arrived a few minutes ahead of our reservation time, they were very pleasant and seated us at the small bar while we waited for a table to open up, only about five minutes. The waiter brought us a separate menu listing all of their vegan options. I have an extra restriction of being sensitive to onions and garlic so the waiter suggested we narrow down our choices and he then checked with the chef to steer us away from things like sauces that couldn't be altered. Another attribute of this restaurant is that they serve meals tapas-style where you order several dishes and then share them family-style. As it turned out, nearly everything we chose as possibilities either didn't need to be, or could be, altered. It's rare to find a restaurant where the food flavorings are so imaginatively created that they don't rely on onions and garlic in everything. That makes them a five star vegan choice in my mind but Happy Cow only allows four stars max for restaurants that are not fully vegan.
