Better than last time, but still only few vegan options - Edit
You will find a list of all vegan options at the end of my review.
Read moreOnly three stars due to previous bad experiences and only few vegan options. However, if the next visit is as good as the last recent one was, I might increase it to four stars in the future.
Background story: I was a big fan of the previous vegatarian restaurant at this location (Flavour of India - if you see it on google maps, don't get fooled, this place closed years ago, but google maps refuses to delete the old listing for some reason...), and was heavily disappointed the first time I visited after the rebranding as a no longer pure vegetarian restaurant. The South Asian waiter didn't seem to properly speak Chinese or English, and definitely did not have any understanding of the concept of veganism. In the end, he named a few dishes that allegedly could be made vegan, but it wasn't trustworthy at all.
Actual review: Fast forward to 2025, I decided to give this place another shot. We went here on a Friday evening, and the whole restaurant was empty. During our visit, the only other guests were a couple, and three delivery guys.
This time, the waiter spoke proper English and Chinese, and after a brief clarification what we did not want to see in our food, he pinpointed us in the right direction.
We ordered the pani puri, which looked fancy but tasted so-so, and the veggie curries number 7 and 8, both of which were very good. Number 7 was a little bit spicy, and no. 8 had a very nice charcoal and spice flavor. Both of which we would order again. As sides we had the jeera rice and the tandoori roti, which were as expected.
All dishes that, according to the waiter, are vegan by default:
Appetizers:
1. Samosa
2. Cocktail Samosa
7. Pani Puri
Vegetarian curries:
5. Aloo Gobhi
6. Bhindi Masala
7. Baigan Ka Bharta
8. Chana Peshawari
10. Dal Tadka
Breads:
Attention, the dough of ALL the Naan breads contains milk, so no vegan Naan options here.
But they do have two whole-wheat breads that are vegan:
14. Tandoori Roti
15. Lachha Paratha
Rice options are all vegan except for numbers 7 (chicken biryani) and 8 (gosht biryani).
