Super - Edit
Ein tolles Restaurant mit schönem Ambiente, guter Musik, sehr netter Bedienung und richtig leckerem Essen. Wir hatten die Etagere für vier Personen, Bier aus Brügge in alles Stärken und zum Dessert eine Torte.

Amazing dinner! - Edit
A restaurant in one of the historical buildings of Bruges. Has a menu: the main course is a étagère with a big assortment of wonderful foods, think of a high tea but then of dinner. The etagère changes by the season, but I had a burger, moussaka, hummus, curry soup and mant more things.
Read moreThere's a bit more choice at the dessert part, where I had a big and delicious chocolate pie.
Friendly staff, good ambiance and at times there's live music.
Note: making a reservation is necessary, because it has limited seating, but even more because it's popular
Pros: Excellent dinner, Excellent dessert, Friendly staff
Cons: Very limited choice of the main course

Very cosy & friendly staff - Edit
We went here to celebrate our anniversary. We read a lot of wonderful reviews, all of which are true. However, we booked at an earlier hour -7pm- to be served more quickly than at rush hour. Nonetheless we had to wait 2 hours to receive our étagère, which is a very long time, considering 75% of the food on the tray is raw or dips. We received as compensation a dip with nachos for free, which was a very lovely gesture. We loved the friendliness of the restaurant owners, and the taste of everything but maybe we are a bit too classic-minded as for what we received. Having dips and nachos and raw cauliflowers as dinner is not our thing. Bread instead of nachos would perhaps been better too. Fortunately we had a tasty vegan dessert and a coffee with plant-based milk afterwards. We will definitely come back but more for a glass of wine/beer and a tapa but not for a full-blown dinner experience.

Pros: Beautiful building, Nice concept with the etagere, Good price
Cons: Long waiting time for not a complex meal, We would prefer more warm servings on the platter, If you are a big eater, order for an extra person

Lovely place with all vegan mix platter - Edit
Very kind people, cosy jazzy cafe with live music. Full vegan menu with all kinds of small bites. We tried the mix platter for 2 persons with lasagne, vol-au-vegan, seitan, jackfruit, dips, soep and so on. They also have lovely vegan desserts! Delicious and good price for the quality! Definitely recommended!

So lovely! - Edit
We booked a table on our last evening in Bruges and were looking forward to it all weekend. Surprisingly, we were one of the only visitors. It was a Sunday evening, but apparently the day before had been really busy. Normally, there would have been live music, but due to the pandemic measures, that part had been temporarily suspended. Live or not: the music was outstanding (jazzy classics genre Ella Fitzgerald). Very fitting with the interior of this old building.
Read moreAlso the drinks and food matched with the concept: some nice artisan beers and an étagère full of delicious homemade foods. We enjoyed it so much, and also the owners are very friendly and welcoming. When in Bruges, this place is definitely a must visit!
Will return, and hopefully next time it will be with live music again. 🤞

Charming place - Edit
This café is located in a very old bulding, and so it is decorated an old fashioned way. It is very welcoming, and the lady that runs this place is very nice. As to the food, the menu is an extensive list of wines, but they have also some "fingerfood", which may be ordered separately or on a mixted plate. We ordered an option for three people and was amazed with the quality and taste of every piece. It definitively overstood our expectations! There are no similar vegan places like this one, I guarantee!

Top place! - Edit
Located in a former atelier, this place is a must in Brugge! Beautifully decorated, with a nice selection of beers and wines, amazing owners and super delicious vegan finger food! Unfortunately there was no live music when I was there but I kind of felt it anyway. I don’t usually like to come back to the same place because I love to discover new places but in this case I made an exception and I went there both nights I spent in Brugge. On the second night they recognized me and they proposed me something different to vary a bit and I was so pleased!

MUST GO IF you are in Bruges - Edit
It's hard to focus on certain aspects of the Atelier, because everything is just so perfect and spot on. First of all, the venue itself is full of character, not just due to the dim lighting that makes it romantic and the soft jazz music, but the fact that it is the former atelier of neo-romantic Belgian painter, Flori van Acker (which is where the name comes from). Even though they just opened in November of 2019. the venue 100% retains the character and style from the mid-19th century, with many paintings on display, and the original stairs, doors, ceilings and floors from that time period. The second most important aspect to us was the vegan cuisine. It is fresh (the many may change from day to day or week to week), homemade, simple, and created with love. We were served a variety of vegan cheeses, crudites, mushroom curry, 2 seitan sandwiches, hummus, a type of coleslaw, green pea and mint dip, fresh fruits, bread and crackers/nachos). I ordered a second portion of the vegan cheese because it was so good. We were absolutely stuffed (2 people) by the end and it costs about 35 euros for the entire tapa etagère (if you are familiar with Bruges, 17 euros per person, especially in an elegant, refined wine bar is EXTREMELY affordable). What made is most delicious is that they are quite simple and humble dishes, but... they are executed perfectly and with care. The third most important aspect for us was the service and the attention from the owners. They are so sweet and lovely people who we were fortunate to chat with and learn about the history of the bar and how they came to open it. We also chatted about plant-based living and they gave us recommendations for things to see in the city. Lastly, to touch on the drinks, we didn't have a chance to order wine as we are more beer drinkers but the 3 beers we tried were delicious and rich in flavor (muuuuch better than beer from Brussels or other regions in Belgium). We had the Extra 4 (light tasting), and the Bier van Bruges (6 and 8%). Overall the visit was unforgettable.....so much so, that we went TWICE in one weekend, as we were only there for less than 48 hours. We love what they stand for and that they show that vegan is sexy, elegant, and for EVERYONE. SEE YOU SOON XO

Amazing vegan restaurant with a lot of variety - Edit
SUPERB. FABULOUS. I don't know where to start. From the moment you enter you feel like you are in a romantic, old-timey but cosy and warm place. Not just by the antique decoration and nostalgic jazz music, but by the owners, who are so attentive and accomodating. We arrived super late (10pm), escaping the rain, with no reservation and they had no more food left but were able to still serve us a few tapas and drinks that were absolutely delicious. It is simple and healthy food, but executed extremely well. It is spacious yet cosy and intimate and time goes by so slowly because you are relaxed yet so quickly because you are enjoying yourself so much. The prices are extremely affordable and even more for the quality of food and service. The food is 100% vegan, homemade and delicious. We didnt try all the tapas or any of the wines.....but we made a reservation for tomorrow so we intend to do so before we leave 😏
Read morePD. Indeed we went again next day and we could try the famous vegan etagere. It was superb, a lot of variety, flavour, textures... Moreover, the owner told us that they often change the dishes. Many beer options as well from soft beers to stronger dark beers. It is a must go place, not only for vegan but for all people that want to enjoy a tasty, healthy meal with friends, partner or family 👌
And by the way its nearly impossible to find vegetarian/vegan food in Bruges, and far less an establishment that is exclusively vegan. SUPPORT LOCAL and SUSTAINABLE businesses.
