Tastes Like Home - Edit
This place is amazing. It felt like eating a plate full of love. Went on a Sunday, for the buffet, and was able to sample soooooo many great dishes. The food was so good, I forgot to take photos of my meal.

Read moreTheir proposal is "afro-italian" cuisine, which popped a big question mark on my mind at the beginning, but everything made sense after I ordered a "hummus plat": a wonderful, tasteful and colorful combination of vegetables/bread/pasta that makes your eyes shine and your belly scream of joy!
Another big plus for the environment: simple, cozy and charming.
Thank you for keeping alive such an amazing place!

Best vegan place in Berlin - Edit
I am visiting Ataya Cafe regularly since they opened up three years ago and I simply love it! The mixture of amazing food and the cozy atmosphere is really unique. All the friends I brought here were thrilled. On Sundays, there is a brunch with a large selection of African and Italian dishes with high-quality ingredients. On all other days, there is vegan breakfast and lunch at a fair price. My favorites are the hummus plate and the ravioli - but also every other dish tastes fantastic. The owners are incredibly friendly and make you feel at home. An absolute recommendation for a visit to vegan Berlin!

They work with different vegan menus and we tried huge ravioli filled with pumpkin and a curry with an AMAZING peanut butter. Highly recommended! The dishes are big, the owners really sweet and to add to all that, they have brunch buffets on Sundays. And watch out for the desserts! We ate two delicious RAW and gluten free and a deadly croissant with vegan Nutella

Lovely cafe with flavourful, healthy, fresh and plentiful food. Lovely space and very warm hosts. The plantain bowl we had was enormous. We would have loved to have tried some of the Italian food too. Next time!

I love your food so much that your restaurant is literally the first place I visit when I leave Tegel airport. I don't even bother going to my hotel. I bring my luggage...I look unkempt...and I probably smell like I've been on a 10 hour flight with a layover in Reykjavik. But, despite all this...your wonderful staff always remembers my name and treats me to such a warm, loving welcome! You even remember my favorite dish!! The African bowl. With extra curry. And a side of your amazing chocolate mousse.:) Thank you for your food. Thank you for your professionalism. And, thank you for creating such an amazing environment for vegans. We love you and appreciate your hard work!

Last Sunday I went to Ataya with two friends for their weekly brunch and we were all amazed by the food! It was so fresh and you could really taste that it‘s made with love! The cafe is completely vegan & plastic-free! And the owners are so lovely and friendly. I can really recommend going there :)

First of all, I think the idea behind AtayaCaffe is great and the people who run the place are lovely. We came for brunch and had booked the first available slot for 11am. The place is very popular for brunch and there was a crowd of people waiting. We found the concept a bit confusing. Doors open at 11am, people walk in, find their seats. And then we didn‘t really know what to do. No one said anything and only after a while we found at that you had to queue for a plate and to pay for the brunch. And that‘s the problem. It‘s just too many people. Why not offer slots for 11, 11:15, 11:30am etc. I‘m sure there are reasons for that, but too me it seems that it‘d make things a bit smoother. The food we tried was great. I would love to have a few more sweet options though. On the day we went there was only one cake and some watermelon. Restroom available.

We wash our dishes and floors with organic, biodegradable and vegan products! Our margins for operating are higher than other restaurants that sell meat and our ideal patron is more highly specific. Our business simply couldn’t exist without robust patronage. And, we are eternally grateful to the vegan community for understanding this and validating our work with their continued visits.

L’arredamento , le stoffe con i motivi africani, le piante verdi ,fanno di questo piccolo ristorante un luogo magico ed originale.

SO pleased we chose Ataya for our last meal of the holiday. I had pumpkin ravioli which was really tasty, my boyfriend had the gnocchi which I tried and it was unREAL - wish I’d got that myself but on both of our dishes the tomato sauce was just so fresh and felt like it was doing us a world of nutritional goodness (especially after eating lots of vegan pizza, burgers, chips and gyros all week😂). To be honest everything on the menu sounded amazing - Peanut veg stews and spicy rice jollof dishes. Great portion size too. Wanted to try cake/dessert or a croissant with a brew (lots of plant milks on offer) but was a bit too full - will definitely go again next time we visit Berlin. The hand wash in the loo also smelt very nice 😂👍🏻 Nice atmosphere and cool wallpaper and fabrics in there - such a nice spot to hang out.

Il menù è molto vario ed accontenta tutti i gusti , buono e sano.
Abbiamo scelto 5 piatti diversi ,tutti erano eccezionali ,autentici e ricchi di sapore .
I prezzi sono allineati con altri posti analoghi. L'atmosfera è molto alternativa/creativa e il luogo è informale e accogliente. Sono tutti gentili. Molto adatto a un pranzo/cena con amici. Una bella esperienza anche per un turista. Consigliatissimo!!!!

Went there for the first time in a Saturday morning and tried the Hummus plate two weeks before I leave Berlin and ended up going there almost every single day until my departure. Every dish is absolutely tasty and highly recommended! I am always satisfied and pleased after having my meal there. Not only does the food taste super delicious but this place also makes me feel like home. It is so magical that I suddenly calm down once I sit in the cozy Café/Restaurant. It is sometimes busy but definitely worth the waiting. Bring a book (or not) and enjoy!

Cons:
- Don't accept card payment and closest ATM at the station sneakily charges €5 per transaction without advertising (come prepared!)
- Told I couldn't use my laptop because they're going for a "restaurant vibe not a cafe vibe"... Which I would be completely fine with if the place didn't have "Cafe" in its name or at least a clear sign at the door saying 'no laptops'

It also seems a bit odd that you would factor your displeasure about ATM fees from a machine on the street into your rating. As to the matter of relaying information to our customers about our payment and laptop policies, there are signs outside our restaurant on the door and windows, inside the restaurant, on our HappyCow page, and on our Google business profile which very clearly states that we are cash only and a laptop-free zone. We’re not sure how you could have missed all this information (?), but we would appreciate it if you would remove this review since the statement you’ve made is quite false and inaccurate.

Food is fresh and good quality. I probably wouldn’t go out of my way to visit, however if I’m in the area I would visit again. We sat outside on a warm summer afternoon. It was a pleasant experience.
