Hokkaido Fries - Edit
Asombroso is a unique Hokkaido-fries-focused spot in a really cool bookstore complex. Sadly, it's no longer fully vegetarian as they've added lots of meat options, including in the sauce of some of the fries. We ordered the Salad Set with hummus and chili sauce fries and a shake and The Aged Potato Salad Burger (more like a sandwich with cubed fries) with cashew mayo fries. They were all really tasty but understandably quite oily.

Cozy vegan spot - Edit
A little restaurant located in a nice place to enjoy after. They serves lots of vegan options and are clearly labeled. I got number 1 on the menu for lunch, it was good.

Many vegan options, clearly labeled on the menu. Non-vegan options will be marked with a dairy or egg icon (it appears that no meat is served in this shop).
Read moreMy husband and I got the karaage salad-don, the hummus chili sauce handcut fries, an affogato, a black sesame smoothie, and a ginger soda.
The Karaage salad-don (fried soymeat and veggies over rice) had a really yummy dressing and was very satisfying.
The fries were heavenly - some of the best I've ever had! I wish I could have tried all of the vegan ones (4 types) but it would be too much food. I'll have to go back someday!
The affogato came with a big chunk of chocolate that was really melty (I think it was made with coconut oil) and the ice cream was very creamy and delicious. I had similar desserts at a few different shops in Sapporo on the same trip, but this was my favorite one! Very good.
I just found out that they also have an online shop and you can buy their fries/sweets frozen online to be delivered to your home. Good news for me since I don't live nearby!
Pros: excellent food, very unique, different from other shops, lots of vegan options

Nice chips and smoothies - Edit
Nice option at the foodcourt of the big bookshop in Ebetsu. Asombroso is a vegetarian fast food stall which has quite a few vegan options such as fries, smoothies, a set meal and salad. They also have vegan cookies to take away.
