Unimpressed, felt sick afterwards

We've been to ASK Italian once in another town and weren't impressed by their vegan selection, however, we decided to give them another chance.

We arrived to the restaurant at 11.30 am and there was no-one around, except for the kitchen staff. After about 10 minutes and with the help of one of the chefs, someone finally came to seat us, no apology for the wait was given. Not a very good start.

The separate vegan menu has a few pizzas with vegan mozzarella and some pasta options. We eventually decided to try their vegetable soup, rosemary and sea salt bread and vegetable pasta (fettuccine con verdure). The food arrived quickly, but then we were the only people in the restaurant at the time. The soup was quite nice, the bread was very average for the price and the pasta was a disaster. Covered in loads of oil, there was no hint of the advertised garlic and chilli seasoning, the only thing I could feel was the olive tapenade, but that had an oily taste to it as well. My stomach was unsettled for the rest of the day.

To top it off, we got the receipt quickly, but it took a while for someone to come so we could pay, so we finished the way we started - waiting to be served.
