Usually at least a couple baked vegan treats like vegan muffin and vegan cookie, plus a vegan bread - call ahead. Arizmendi is the shortened name of Jose Maria Arizmendiarrieta, a young priest who inspired and helped found the Mondragon Cooperatives in the Basque Country of Spain in the 1950s. Open Tue-Sun 8:00am-8:00pm.

Best of Oakland - Edit
No doubt about it, this place is great. Cherry currant scone is the best thing they sell. Hummus also great.

Vegan and Vegetarian Pizza - Edit
Great crusts on their pizzas. We got both a vegan pizza for my husband and a vegetarian pizza for me and my daughter. Other than one ‘cheese’ being plant based, the pizzas were identical. There is a difference in taste, of course, but the vegan version was hobbled up as quickly or even quicker than the cow cheese version. Supper yummy! Note, pizzas are take and bake.
