Friendly, homely and welcoming - Edit
I booked at Ardlogie for a trip with my mom in 2013 -- yes, that was 10 years ago and my memories of our stay are still quite pleasant. When we arrived, there was a hand lettered sign alerting us that the proprietors had gone to the grocery store. Since we had seen signs all over for Oban Highland games, we headed there to spend the afternoon.

Pros: Vegan breakfasts! , Friendly hosts, Comfortable rooms

Great place to stay in Aviemore. - Edit
More places now are at least supplying soya milk at breakfast but non-diary margarine or a wider breakfast choice can still be difficult to obtain. The owners of this small guest house went out of their way to cater for us. The owners Kirsty and Kevin are not vegetarian/vegan but as well as soya milk and margarine offered vegan haggis at breakfast, crumpets with fruit, vegan yoghurt, vegan smoothies, very good coffee. They also do a wide range of non-vegan breakfast options so if you are travelling with a vegetarian or fish or meat eater (as some people looking at this site may do) there are good choices for them as well. They also put vegan "treats" and individual soya milks in the room. They constantly tried to feed us more at breakfast and if we had stayed more than the two nights there would have been a danger to waistlines!
Read moreI don't know what the bedding contains and they keep their own chickens for eggs which I know might put some people off, but if you want perfection you'll probably have to stay at home. For us, it was great to find somewhere so friendly and offering such a good breakfast.
The house itself is close to the railway station and the centre of the town. Our room at the back had a nice view over the garden and had useful books and Kevin will be happy to advise on places to visit, if needed. We would definitely stay there again, except it's so popular we may not get in!
