Closed Down

Ardbeg have closed their cafe as it was taking over from whisky sales. There is now a wee caravan snack bar which doesn’t offer regular vegan options. No plant milk either.

Pros: Nothing

Cons: Cafe closed down, Staff not friendly , Website unclear about cafe

Disappointed

2 visits to the cafe at the Distillery this week and closed for food on both occasions. Told us they’re cutting down on cafe options and concentrating more on the whisky sales. The outdoor van had one vegan soup…cauliflower which was nice but came with half a slice of stale bread and no spread. There was nothing else vegan and only tiny sugar roll size oat milk sachets. The indoor bar only had almond milk. Won’t be back.

Pros: Soup but not the stale bread and no spread.

Cons: Indoor cafe closed with limited options anyway, Lack of vegan food options at outdoor van , No plant milk at outside van

Vegan option from outdoor cafe gone and cafe closed

The day we went their cafe was unexpectedly closed and the vegan options that used to be at their food truck are now gone

Sublime food

Only a couple of options for vegan items but the chef is happy to alter items to make them vegan. There were no desserts on the menu but they happily made one from poached plums and mango sorbet.

So good, we went back a second time before going home. Just as good as the first time.

Great lunchtime snack

Due to covid their café is closed, however, they have converted an airstream trailer where they serve their menu from. There are picnic tables and umbrellas in the courtyard and you can have your food ( your whisky tastings) there. It was lovely weather when I had my lunch there and the courtyard had a bit of a carribean feel to it (with great music). I had the hoisin mushroom bun which was super tasty. Friendly and very helpful staff.
