Very likely the best place to eat in Kaunas, regardless of your lifestyle. It's just amazing home cooked food. Desserts and pastries are also super good.

Nice food, staff not so much. - Edit
I was using Google translate for the menu & the woman working there said loudly: “Please! Eat!” I wish I’d explained I was translating & not taking photos - not that it should have mattered, I was the only customer & it was 3 hours before closing.
Read moreSo I had to panic order. Fortunately what I ended up with was nice but I doubt I’ll be returning to get what I actually wanted to try that I was trying to find on the menu.

Cheap and tasty vegan eats - Edit
This is currently (September 2025) the only fully vegan place in Kaunas so we visited as soon as we arrived. Most (but not all) of the menu is translated into English and with a bit of pointing we were able to order ok - the lady taking our order was lovely. Most dishes seemed to be vegan versions of traditional Lithuanian dishes and I was hoping to try the potato cakes with mushroom sauce but unfortunately they were sold out. I opted for the vegetable broth (which was essentially a bowl of vegan stock) and a big vegetable pasty which had lovely crisp pastry and a tasty filling. My husband tried the soy steak which came with potatoes and a few other bits and he enjoyed that. It was very reasonably priced with our whole lunch (including a bottle of water) costing about €13.50. Definitely worth a visit!

Delicious - Edit
It‘s a small self service restaurant and there is only one English page on the menu. But as everything is vegan I just chose something. The portions were rather small but the fold was delicious.

Delicious and fresh! - Edit
We loved the vegan crepes. Savory mushrooms. Berry fruity banana cinnamon crepes. All vegan and egg-free. Also the beetroot “burger” no bun and not a classic veggie burger, but a unique combination of veggies to enjoy.

Beautiful vegan pastries - Edit
The food is all delicious, we had several meals there. The mushroom dumplings were excellent. I particularly recommend the pyragėlis - we had the seaweed, the mushroom, the spinach and the berry pastries and they were all beautiful. The mushroom pyragėlis is my top recommendation.

We ate here a few times while visiting Kaunas, mainly because of the convenience that the place is vegan. The food here was comforting, not the best but pleasant; the atmosphere makes up for the food experience.

We ate twice here on our first day in Kaunas. The menu is varied but can be difficult to navigate in English (not a complaint, just a heads up for others). The lady server was very friendly and did her best to translate. Food was delicious and some dishes seem to be Lithuaian while others are more general (savoury pastries). Worth a visit.

Delicious! - Edit
Little local restaurant. We got the mushroom cutlet, dumplings and crepes (spinach and tofu). The mushroom cutlet and crepes were outstanding. Also got the vegetable soup thinking it would be a soup that's not smashed but turns out to be a stock cube in hot water.... But that's on us for not using Google translate. Overall highly recommend !

Amazing experience, could not recommend it more - Edit
An adorable exterior and interior. I wanted to try traditional Lithuanian food in Kaunas and this place did not disappoint. There were a variety of options, I ended up trying the zemaiciu blynai which (as I’ve been informed) is traditionally made with meat but they had masterfully done with mushrooms. My (non vegan & Lithuanian) girlfriend had bulvinai blynai with berries - she says it tastes very similar to the traditionally made dish and was very impressed. If you’re visiting kaunas and looking for vegan food, make sure you give this place a go because it is deliciousssss!

I'm pleased I found this open on a Sunday. I picked the fried eggplants which came with a side tomato sauce. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish which was a good size. I wouldn't hesitate going back if I stayed in Kaunas longer

Veganised local cuisine always great to see - Edit
I’m a keen fan of when places don’t go for the same old kinds of menus and dishes and serve properly veganised traditional dishes instead. Thankfully this place does that in a great place that feels super homely and is staffed by incredibly nice people. A Kaunas must.

A Real Gem - Edit
Thank you, Tori, for taking me to this gem of a restaurant. Located inside part of an old-fashioned pharmacy (still operating as I write this review) is a fabulous Lithuanian vegan restaurant. You can not go wrong here, as all of the dishes are made with so much love. From the dumplings filled with mushrooms, the flakey and extraordinary savory pastries to the traditional pink soup, you will enjoy every bite of food here. Fortunately, the man who has owned the pharmacy since the 1970s (and will be retiring at the end of 2024) gave us a private tour of the back offices and inner workings of the pharmacy. He really is passionate about health, and has a framed poster in the back with the famous Hippocrates quote: "Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food” I'm so glad he chose a vegan restaurant to share his space that reflects this quote and his beliefs.
