Affordable, freshly made, but very oily

Very friendly, the food is fresh and affordable, tastes great - but swims in oil

A unique spot!

As others have said, the menu isn’t thoroughly translated - but no worries as it’s vegan so you can just pick one and know you’ll get a decent meal! Quirky place attached to a pharmacy with an unusual bathroom…

As for food, we had soup (vegetable broth and spicy bean), and then wheat cutlet for me and zemaicu (not sure on spelling!) for partner. Matcha tea was nice too. We also bought some pastries to take away with us for dinner on the train! There was a good range of sweet and savoury - plum, spinach, tofu cheese, mushrooms, cabbage, apple.

Would love to have been in Kaunas longer to revisit.

Simple but delicious

The food wasn't particularly fancy or complex, but it was still very tasty.

Simple food, friendly location

We had some really good food, the kind I would cook at home, and fresh pressed juices. Sadly, we were only in Kaunas for one day or I would have liked to try more of their menu.

The location is very small and the staff friendly. The bathroom is definitely worth a visit, it felt like a Time Machine.

Pros: Non-flashy, good vegan food, Lots of options to choose from

Cons: Lots of options making it difficult to choose ;)

Homemade flavours

Difficult to know exactly what you are getting because the menu in English is lacking😄but we enjoyed trying some pancakes and dumplings that we knew were safely vegan

Pros: Lithuanian food done vegan

Cons: Lacks English menu or ordering, A little pricey

Uninspired

I was happy to see a vegan choice in this city but was disappointed by the standard and uninspired fare. The best part of my meal was the borscht soup to start. The greasy tasteless spinach and tofus cheese crepe followed by a date-based pastry topped with a ball of pear. The printed menu had one page of English and the remains dozen pages had more menu items but I could not determine what they were.

Pros: Central location , All vegan choices

Cons: Tasteless , Uninspired menu with little creativity

Pastries and herbal tea

Pastries and herbal tea are really lovely here! Location is nice and everything’s vegan.

I also had the potato pancakes (or something like that). I didn’t love them.

Delicious local vegan cuisine

We’ve had beetroot cutlets and spinach crêpes as well as several puff pastries (both sweet and savory) and a piece of cake. Main dishes were simple yet very tasty which is quite typical of Eastern European food. Speaking of baked goods, it was heavenly delicious. Definitely worth trying
The lady at the café had a rather modest English vocabulary, but it was possible to communicate anyway😄

Pros: Authenticity , Huge variety of options , Nice atmosphere

Love love love

We really loved all of their vegan takes on traditional Lithuanian food. It was great to find a healthy and cruelty free alternative to all of the traditional dishes that we'd see at other restaurants but which we couldn't eat. We sat outside in the late summer evening and enjoyed a selection of soups, pancakes and dumplings. We're just sad that we didn't have any space for the delicious looking cakes! We will definitely be back the next time we're in Kaunas!

Absolutely not

Avoid, avoid, avoid!
We felt very unwelcome from the moment we opened our mouths and English came out. The lady seemed very annoyed about it. The food was a huge disappointment. We were so much looking forward to vegan Slavic food, but holy, was that bad. The cold beetroot soup was watery and flavourless, the mushroom cutlets didn't taste like mushrooms and had a minimal amount of sauce and potato pancakes with mushroom sauce were raw inside and the sauce had three pieces of mushroom in it. Of course, the dishes didn't arrive at the same time to the same table. Neither of us finished our food and only after ordering and paying, shocked by the amazing reviews of this place, did we uncover the 2-star reviews (the lowest that Happycow allows a vegan restaurant to have), which said that the food might not be vegan at all, so we dreaded every bite.
Do yourselves a favour and go elsewhere.

Pros: Location

Cons: Unfriendly staff, Bad food, Offence to Slavic cuisine

Why in the world would you be looking for Slavic food in a cafe with traditional Lithuanian cuisine?.. Lithuanians are Balts, not Slavs...

Very nice typical place

The place is very cute, the 2 ladies are very nice. Quite a lot of dishes to choose from, I had the fried eggplant (I thought they would be more tasty) with the amazing vegetables w/sauce, and the mushroom dumplings, everything was good.

Cosy

A cosy place with a delicious vegan Lithuanian food. I am sure that even non-vegan friends would like it. Loved their homemade kombucha, which was much cheaper than from the bottles. Friendly staff who kindly answers your questions. They also have some teas and supplements for purchase.
