Lovely veggie vegan pizza without any cheese - Edit
Visited Jan 2025. Busy little Italian place with friendly staff. Lovely proper Italian thin pizza base with tomato sauce & veggies. They don't have any vegan cheese but I don't mind as I'm quite happy with cheese free pizzas. I became a regular customer for the week I was in town.

Very good Italian food, but... - Edit
... As so many times here on Teneriffe, you have to master the language in order to dig into vegan options because they're not in the mindset of people. In the specific case, the waiter spoke Italian and Spanish, but hardly any English, hence without mastering one of these two languages it was practically impossible to get something vegan. If you do, there is. Limited but very good! Had an excellent pizza!

Nothing vegan - Edit
No vegan options at all on the menu and waiter kept recommending pasta dishes with cheese! Presume this has changed hands recently. The vegetarian pizza served without cheese was fine but not really worth listing compared to any other pizza place. If your expecting this to be like Purezza you'll be majorly disappointed

Cons: Nothing vegan, Not a particularly nice area or venue

The best vegan pizza I have ever eaten - Edit
It was a fellow vegan friend (who's Italian!) who recommended Arancino Street food restaurant to me (since alas Puerto de la Cruz, where I used to live until recently isn't exactly a vegan haven). Thus I invited a friend to come and celebrate my birthday with me at Arancino (this friend is Argentinian and thus not a vegan!). This was in January 2024 and the vegan pizza I was served was soooo delicious I was sorry I hadn't been aware of this place before, since in the meantime I have moved away from the island. But I went back there with another friend the day before I left Tenerife and on my last day in Puerto, I couldn't resist treating myself to one last delicious pizza. And having moved to a particularly carnivorous part of Spain I certainly do miss Arancino.
Read moreApart from the delicious food , which moreover is beautifully digestible because made with fresh ingredients, the service was super friendly. And although I normally don't drink alcohol, I had a glass of their wine and it was equally delicious. Like for the pizza, the quantity was most generous and I was amazed at the moderate price.
Needless to say, the place is very popular and thankfully my friend who recommended it had warned me it was essential to book (even for lunch). People who hadn't booked had to be turned away, because in its present premises Arancino is quite small.
As a very longtime wholefood vegan, I would normally not eat in a non-vegan restaurant, but in this case, I would choose the vegan pizza at Arancino way above the other places (vegan/vegetarian) available in Puerto de la Cruz.
I would have given Arancino 5 stars, but this wasn't allowed by the Happy Cow site because it also serves meat dishes.
