Nice vegan options and not expensive at all

I went here because two other places listed on Happy Cow nearby turned out to not be suiteable. Lovely looking place, friendly staff, clearly marked vegan options, fair prices. I had a huge cauliflower pita, which was not a stuffed pita but a traditional one wich a huge amount of tasty stuff heaped on top. Great place for lunch.

Cute place for breakfast and brunch

Me and my omni boyfriend enjoyed our breakfast here while staying at a hotel nearby. Perfect place for both of us, and already open at 8 so we had the whole day to explore the city. Savoury breakfast options are limited but I enjoyed the avocado toast!

Worth a visit!

Cozy place with a good amount of vegan options. Everything I tried so far is super tasty. It's also very affordable compared to other lunch rooms.

5 stars! Will definitely visit again

Good service, lovely housecat and a wide variety of vegan&veggie options for lunch and breakfast. We ate the sandwich with bean spread, artichoke and avocado, and the pita with pumkin-harissa. Both really tasty, good portions. More then your money's worth. homely atmosphere. we will definitely return.

Best vegan chocolate croissant I’ve ever had.

Breakfast and coffee were very nice! The croissant was SO tasty!! Came back the next day just for take them with home!

Vegan pain au chocolat

We had the vegan breakfast and some pancakes here. There are not so many vegan options, but they have a vegan croissants with chocolate or almond fresh from the oven, which were amazing.

Tasty vegan options and large portions

A lot of vegan options and large portions of food. I have tasted the pitabread with Indian aubergine-fritters and the vegan frittata, which had a lot of flavour. Staff is friendly.

Disappointing (might've improved since I was last there, though)

We came to this place expecting they would cater to vegans because they advertise themselves as very vegan friendly on social media. But when we asked the waitress what vegan options they have (and we spoke Dutch as natives, so language wasn't a problem), she was completely clueless and called the chef. I should add here that vegan options were not clearly marked on the menu (which might have changed in the last few months since we were last there). He arrived, quickly pointed at a couple of menu items and rushed away. Needless to say, it was hard for us to get much useful information from that.

When I asked what vegan desserts they had, they told me to go check at the counter. There was only one vegan item there, a very sad looking raw cookie/bar. I really wish places offering vegan food would stop resorting to raw food, especially raw desserts because there's so so much more one can do in terms of vegan cuisine.

We ended up ordering a very non-spectacular wrap and two average cappuccinos and quickly finished our meal because the place was overcrowded (plus our table and chairs were wonky and seemed very unstable).

Also, the staff looked disorderly, taking cigarette breaks in front of the place, and they just didn't look very clean (just like the whole place, especially the kitchen area - which is or at least was visible and you can check other (Google) reviews that attest to that). We then went to Hummus across the street and got some delicious vegan food accompanied by kind and professional staff and a very nice, clean interior.

Two stars because the local cats seemed to be allowed to enter the place.

Delicious Vegan Options

My girlfriend and I stumbled on this beautiful cosy cafe right as the sun was peaking out! We sat outside in and it was super lovely. I really enjoyed the cassave Burger! Their serving sizes are super generous!! Would recommend 10/10

Five stars

Nice place with good atmosphere. Very nice breakfast and lunch options of which a lot are vegan. Very nice owner. If happy cow would allow for it i would give appeltje eitje a genuine 5 star rating, but i think the vegan world also needs to emancipate.

Lekker eten op gezellig terras

Sfeervolle aankleding zowel binnen als buiten. Diversr veganistische opties voor zowel zoet als hartig. Vriendelijke bediening en de havermilkshake is fantastisch.

Pros: Verschillende veganistische opties, Fijne sfeer, Terras in de zon

Cons: Geen parasolletjes om eventjes onder te schuilen

Best Breakfast Brunch an Lunch!

For all vegans and vegetarian probably the best brunch and breakfast place in this are! Meals made with lots of love and dedication to create the greatest taste in a super comfy atmosphere!

Delicious and fresh food

A couple of years ago I had a lot of struggles with migraine, headache and cluster headache. I ran from one doctor to the other, no one found the solution and I was filled up with intoxicating medication, nothing helped. It only got worse. .... and finally the solution was so easy: take care of the nutrition and avoid wheet, industrial food and red meat. Appeltje Eitje offers everything that fits to my diet, delicious and fresh. Everytime I am in The Hague, I go there and enjoy.

Lovely brunch!

Such a nice brunch spot with great food , delicious coffee, and a homey atmosphere! I had the Indian wrap which was so flavourful. It was reasonably priced and worth every penny. Was initially overwhelmed by the amount of vegan options the had. There is something for everyone and the perfect place where omnis and vegans can both enjoy. Highly recommended!!
