LOVE IT - Edit

My friend and I have been eating at Antonio's every single day of our 1 week trip to Medellin. They were definitly other options, but we just came back everyday because the food was so incredible. The Lentil Burger is AMAZING and the fries are the best ones I've had in a long time. The owner speaks english fluently and is very friendly. He gave us lots of tips and recommendations of things to do in Medellin which was really appreciated.

Pros: Lentil Hamberger , THE FRIES, Really affordable

Cons: is only open during the day, not for dinner

Rico aunque costoso - Edit

Very good food, but the competition is tough - Edit

The food IS very good. The tamal was very tasty (although very similar to Veg Station's?) and the seasoning in the rice that i had was very nice.

But not only was the tamal very similar to others, I also didnt get the feeling that the trip from the other part of the city was necessary. If you are in the neighbourhood then FOR SURE this is a good choice (perhaps one of the few?).

Pros: tasty

Excellent service, excellent food - Edit

Antonio the owner is a very friendly and helpful guy who speaks perfect English and is a vegan himself. He talked us through the menu and made recommendations. Everything we tried was great, especially the fresh quinoa bread used in the veggie sandwich, which was filled with vegan imitation ham (gluten) and some delicious relish. Tamale was really good as was the sprouted grain burger. Hope to return again.

Pros: Interesting menu, mostly vegan, Friendly service

Cons: Some items only available at lunch

Will visit again - Edit

We had a very nice vegan lunch. The restaurant is small with queues at midday but we were lucky to find a table. The lunch that day consisted of pineapple and celery juice, spinach and leek soup accompanied by Hindu rice, a vegan patty and salad. It was very tasty, would have had just a bit more salt. Perhaps they could add some salt and pepper dispensers. It was excellent value for money. The owner is friendly and very efficient. Music was nice. Location is not hard to find if you take a taxi to Unicentro shopping center and walk one street and a half. If you get lost ask as many people know the location.

Pros: Fresh food, Friendly, Creative

Cons: Small sitting area

A little bit different and all vegan - Edit

Although it´s not particularly central (20 minute walk from Exposiciones metro stop), it´s worth a trip to this cute little restaurant. I ordered the menu del día, with creamed spinach soup, a cucumber lemonade, a black bean burrito, and a small piece of carrot cake. The burrito and soup were a nice change from the typical watery vege soup, brown rice and fake meat combo. They also offer burgers, lasagna, and some vegan food products to go.

Bonus: Just past the Exito on Calle 34, there´s a natural food shop with vegan alfajore filled biscuits, filled breads, and other treats.

Pros: All vegan, Colombian run, A little bit different

Cons: Out of the way

Must Go! - Edit

The place can be tricky to find (as addresses in Colombia can be quite confusing), but it's totally worth it, it's relatively close to Unicentro which might make it easier to find. The food was incredibly tasty, my wife kept asking me if it was really vegan

Pros: Food, Service, Price

Cons: Location, Tables/chairs

Highly Recommended - Edit

This place took a little while to find, but definitely well worth it. I tried their menu of the day which was very healthy and hearty. Antonio, the owner, was very warm and welcoming. The guy is a legend! He gave us plenty of tips for traveling around Medellin and Colombia. His wife and staff were also very warm. The place is quite petite and apparently there can be a lineup. There also some vegan related foods sold to take home. My favourite place in Medellin thus far.

Great Food! - Edit

I almost never give out 5 cows, but I really liked this place. As of June 2014, the meal of the day costs 9500 pesos. The day I went, it included a bowl of beet soup, the main plate with 5 or 6 items, a glass of juice, and a small fruit dessert. I wish I could eat this good every day; it was so healthy and the flavors were great. I've never had beet soup before. For a typical tourist, you may not end up in this neighborhood by chance, but it's very nice, and the restaurant is right next to the Unicentro Shopping Center. The owner told me they also do deliveries. When they run out of the meal of the day, they also have tamales, lasagna, veggie burgers, wraps, etc. The owner lived in California for many years and speaks English. Although it may not be in the typical tourist places, this is worth the trip!

Pros: Flavors, Great service, Value and nutrition

Cons: Only 4 tables
