3 course brunch - Edit
Anoah reopened at their new and permanent location on Jan. 17, 2024. Very nice interior, tasty food & excellent coffee. The brunch on Sat. & Sun. consists of 3 courses plus a buffet with croissants, Zopf, bread, different salty spreads, jam and yoghurt. Everything was delicious and filling.

Fine dining for a special occasion - Edit
This place is expensive but it's exactly what you would expect for a fine dining experience. Yes it would be nice to not have to share a table but we didn't have that problem eventhough it was very busy. There was a wait between courses but our waiter checked in with us and on the one occasion we waited 20mins instead of the expected 15mins he gave an extra glass of wine. I do think an extra waiter would have helped but we had a lovely time and the food was innovative and tasty. Small portions but not unexpected for 6 courses as anymore would have been a waste. Menu changes every month so would happily visit again but due to price would be special occasions only.

Read moreWe went for a Sunday brunch. The whole experience was just horrible - service was incredibly unprofessional, first of all they forgot one of the dishes we ordered and water, at some point we were just really thirsty but it was such a challenge getting the waiter's attention - not that they were busy, just neglectful. They also failed to clean any dirty dishes without us asking to do that after we had been sitting with them for over 20 minutes; meanwhile we could see our food sitting on the kitchen shelf waiting for a waiter to pay attention to it.
But the worst part of the whole thing was that the actual menu. So the brunch menu consists of 3 dishes, the menu says they're for sharing, the price is 49CHF (47EUR). So from the get-go it's a bit confusing, if it's for sharing, is the price per person or per menu? We were open to both options. There is a buffet style 'bread-bar' on the side, where they have 2 types of croissants and an additional type of white bread, but we were told not to eat too much bread, as the menu is gonna be pretty heavy.
However when we actually received our food, there was a slice of bread with a thin layer of quacamole cut in half, 6 (!) scoops of scrambled tofu, and one plate of the pancake dish (that consisted of 4 medium-sized pancakes on top of each other). So splitting those things between the two of us, there was SO little food, that it was incredibly difficult to believe that the price would be 49CHF per person, instead of the whole menu - which is what it turned out to be. It felt like a scam. And we're used to Zurich prices - this was something else.
We did ask about it afterwards, my husband was interested to know how 1 brunch menu looks like, squirt of scrambled tofu and half of pancakes (did not word it quite like that)? The answer was 'I don't know, I don't make the prices.' Then we obviously still had to pay, once the transaction went through in the terminal, the waiter said "ok, bye", and sprinted away. Again, the place was not busy, the service was just shockingly bad.
As for the food, the scrambled tofu was below average, the half slice of a toast was watery and unpleasant, luckily the pancakes tasted nice, I wish I didn't only get half of the dish.
So we pretty much felt taken advantage of and think of this place as more of a scam. Don't waste your money.

Read moreThe service is the worst part about this place while the food is average. We were sitting with dirty empty dishes on the table for over 20 minutes, being ignored while there were only 4 other tables served. The dirty dishes were taken away only partially and only when asked. The staff was literally just standing and chatting, doing nothing.
The brunch was a complete disaster, it says "shared" in the menu, and you literally share a sandwich (barely any guacamole and some tomato), a small portion of scramble and have to cut pancakes in half, but pay for 2 menu prices (a total of 98 without extras). We were told not to take too much bread, because there is a lot of food. I asked what a single serving looks like and got no reply.
They also didn't serve water while the glasses were on the table and us being first in the place and having to wait for coffee for 10 minutes was also a surprise. The croissant was not fresh either.
The pancakes were sitting in the open where we could see for at least 5 minutes before brought to us. 10 minutes before being served, with all the empty dishes that had been lying around for ages, we were asked "if we are ready for pancakes". That was the moment when he was about to go away and we asked him to take the dirty dishes away, but he left us our plates. He expected us to eat the pancakes off the scramble and sandwich crumb leftovers, so we has to ask for new plates when the pancakes did arrive.
They also forgot the only additional item ordered.
On top of all that, the men's room door didn't have a door handle on the inside, so I had to stick my finger in the hole and pull the door open, a nice cherry on top.
I think there was not a single thing done right, so it is hard to summarize it cohesively.
After sharing my negative feedback with the waiter he said "OK bye". Excellent.
Honestly, we felt totally scammed. You are much better of going to Hiltl or any other place.

Read moreI feel really sorry for the waiters, because they were doing a good job but the rest of the experience was a total disaster. We took a 6-course menu with drinks pairing and after 3.5 hours spent at the restaurant and 5 meals served, we literally asked for the bill and left.
If the chef worked as hard on the taste as he did on the presentation and fancy cooking techniques, this could have been a good restaurant. However, the portions are extremely small and not even one meal actually tasted well. On the top of that, we had to wait 30-40 minutes for each course and even share a table with another couple for the entire evening! All this for a total of over CHF 300.
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Massively overpriced , Plain and tasteless meals, It takes 4 hours to get out from this place

Read moreMy partner and I visited Anoah for a dinner and our experience has been negative. First of all, I would like to clarify that I very rarely give a 1-star rating, especially to 100% vegan places, however the whole experience has been so poor that they left me no choice.
Let’s begin with the positive as there aren’t many:
The customer service is very friendly, the premises look really good and everything is vegan.
That said, everything else was really bad. The food was of below average quality and taste, and highly overpriced. We went for the 6-course menu with juice pairing and there wasn’t one single dish that I would order again. Portions were very small and very basic.
The service was incredibly slow too. We got there at 19:00 and got our bill at 22:24. While I do understand that it’s a “fine dining” restaurant and therefore waiting times can be slightly longer, I believe it’s unacceptable that one has to spend 3h of which 2h and 30 minutes waiting for food. Also, tables are very close to each other and some of them (like the one we had) are even connected so you basically end up dining with complete strangers which is just unacceptable when paying over CHF150 per person.
Finally, the bill was the cherry on the cake. CHF314 for one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had.
We visited many vegan restaurants in Zürich and I guarantee you that there are plenty of better options in town.
