Delicious Veg Burger

The root veg burger was great, but the toppings are what really made it! I did take it off the roll which was a little dry and overwhelmed all the amazing flavors of the toppings and burger. I would just order it without the bun and, in my opinion, it's perfect.

Taro burger- yum!

This place is worth a stop if you're around this part of the island. They do only have one vegan burger, but it's really good! The taro burger patty itself is quite good, and it comes vegan without any modification- the toppings are a mango salsa and a lime slaw. From the older reviews it sounds like that wasn't always to case, I guess they figured it out.

Pros: Delicious vegan burger

Cons: Only one vegan burger

one burger that will rock your world... just be careful to explain you want it vegan !

The mala burger (their only vegan option) is super tasty but they will put mayo and cheese on it so make sure you tell them to hold both of you are vegan. Otherwise it's a very festive, island vibe that's very family friendly:)

Pros: amazing view of ocean, amazing mala burger- not dry but flavorful

Cons: puts cheese and mayo on even after specifying vega

Limited selection for vegetarians

The Kona side of the Big Island is pretty bleak for vegetarians, but this place at least has some options. For vegans there's the choice of salad or the chickpea burger. Ovo vegetarians have the added option of a Portobello burger stuffed with bulgur and parmesan. The salad was large and the chickpea burger was decent. There's only one option for dressing on the salad and for some reason vegans are only offered a ciabatta bun for the burger. I won't complain about prices as everything here is expensive.

On the plus side, the service was excellent and the furnishings were nice. They ask for recommendations from diners, so if enough people ask for more options, they may respond.
Two stars for the food; 4 stars for service and ambiance.

Pros: Excellent service, Nice setting

Cons: Limited selection
