Fresh and organic

A friendly small shop with good selection of fresh organic produce from organic farms. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the veggies. There are also vegan cookies, some oils and sauces for sale.

Location: on Kawaramachi-dori, one block north of Marutamachi-dori

Got nice fruit and cookies

I bought some mikan and a set of three cookies from a brand called Amrita. It came with a star-shaped cookie (almond-chocolate sable), a cranberry-chocolate biscotti and a chocolate-filled cookie (called a chocolate cake on the package). Especially the last two were excellent, and I'm not much of a biscotti fan because they remind me too much of rocks. The biscotti was firm but not too hard, and the chocolate in the chocolate-filled cookie was smooth and delicious, not grainy or coarse like sometimes happens with vegan chocolate. Probably the best vegan biscotti I've had.

They had some interesting varieties of green vegetables but I was on a trip and wasn't planning on cooking anything, so I didn't get them.

Pros: Has some interesting items I hadn't seen before
