Been many times to this place and will keep going back. Great variety to the menu and all the food is tasty and filling. The decoration is so cool and quirky and is fitting of a vegan premises. The owner Adam is really friendly and always so welcoming. I recommend the burgers and one of their ice block dessert things.

Pros: variety to menu, great food , friendly and welcoming staff

always so good! - Edit

our first visit here was for Sunday lunch over a year ago. (for my birthday) both my partner and myself loved it. although the portion looked small there was plenty there and very filling. a year later we Had a fabulous late lunch. For a belated birthday treat (for me) as they were closed on Tuesday. :( it was so yummy. My partner had the chilli dog and I had the tempeh beer batter. Loads of food and at a reasonable price. Staff were lovely, and very friendly. The only downside was the roll for the chilli dog didn't Hold very well which led to very messy eating 😂 and there was no cake. Really had my heart set on that lemon drizzle. (It's ok though I needed to be restricted on cake eating!)the following day we went back in again and the level of service was great! food still great. I had the burger this time and my partner had the Thai chilli wrap (and they had cake this time round which was luuuush!)I'm annoyed I left it over a year since I last went as I forgot how great this place is. We shall definitely be back soon. - again

Pros: vegan, reasonably priced, great staff and great food

Cardiff's Vegan Option - Edit

This is the the place to go for a totally vegan menu in Cardiff. The menu seems to be updated fairly regularly and covers brunch style food through to dinner options. The cakes are made locally (not in house, as far as I know, but by an excellent vegan baker) and the staff here are usually very friendly.

If I had to criticise, service can be slow particularly when it's busy and the portions could be bigger, but that's probably only because the food is so good that I want more. Free street parking is limited to 1 hour unless you can find a spot in one of the gaps on the nearby streets.

Pros: Variety on the menu

Cons: Car parking can be difficult here

Tasty food and great service - Edit

The food was really tasty and was prepared really quickly! We had a doner meat wrap and the beetroot and asparagus hash with triple cooked chips which was to die for! Followed by the chocolate, peanut butter and caramel raw cheesecake which was also heavenly.

The service was great, and the staff were all very happy and so helpful.

10/10

Fantastic Place - Edit

My partner and I had a delicious dinner here 2 days back. We had avocado and chocolate cake; ginger and lime mocktale; beetroot and asparagus hash; and spicy roots with fried potato wedges. The food burst flavours in our mouths. One of the best tasting food I have eaten. Absolutely recommend!

The owner, Adam is very friendly and talks to his customers. He has keen interest in organic food and the food in the restuarant is about 70% organic. I art on the walls are beautifully crafted.

Pros: Delicious Food, 100% Vegan!

Cons: Limited Menu

What a treat - Edit

At last...a first class top quality vegan restaurant for Cardiff. This place is a treat in both food and surroundings. Every vegan within 30 miles should make this place a regular watering hole as it deserves our support. Food choice is interesting, imaginative and varied. Meals are generous in portion size and nicely presented. The restaurant is underpinned by a wholly ethical approach to cuisine. Staff are warm and friendly and enthusiastic. Surroundings do have a gentle religious theme but it is not in any way dominant, moreover hidden behind clever art. This place is a gem and is wholly and entirely vegan

Pros: Choice of food, Quality of cuisine , Standard of service

Cons: Location-can be difficult to park

Worth the detour - Edit

My partner and I visited Anna Loka on our way to the Brecons from London. I believe it's still relatively new, but it was obvious that it was doing busy from the number of people eating there.

It's nicely decorated, with an interesting vegan menu. I get tired of seeing the same dishes being served at many vegan restaurants, so it was great to see that this place had some different dishes. I went for the open tofu satay sandwich, which was very tasty. The cakes looked good and we regretted not getting any. I also wanted to check out the scones and tea - next time!!

The staff, including the owner, were all very friendly and the cafe had a nice atmosphere. I hope this place continues to do well.

We'll definitely be back when we're passing Cardiff next time.

Best Restaurant in Cardiff! - Edit

This is my favorite restaurant in Cardiff. 100% vegan, and the food is absolutely delicious. The Anna Loka is for vegans and meat-eaters alike. Sweet potato gnocchi is my favorite thing on the menu. So thankful to have a 100% vegan restaurant locally!

Pros: all-vegan delicious menu, friendly staff, nice atmosphere

An enthusiastic and interesting vegan restaurant - Edit

We only just made it here, currently. They are closing at 7pm not 9.30'as the online info suggests. Luckily we phoned at 6.15 to book a table and ended up doing a brisk walk to get or orders in before the kitchen closed. Lots of signs were not good from the place being empty, to the wobbly toilet but we had a great experience. This was in no small part due to the very friendly owner and staff who made up for the lack of choices left on the hard to read daily menu (they need to add a spotlight or two!). Inspired by Krishna food ideas Anna Loka is a cool looking ethically motivated restaurant. The decor is clever and interesting. The kitchen is open. The menu changes so recommendations are obsolete but their homemade bean sausage was very impressive.
The chef,s were on hand to advise on ingredients and adapt to our special requests which is always a good sign. I,d have appreciated more than one sugar free dessert option but given that this was the first I came across in Cardiff the raw chocolate brownie was a real treat and well made.
Anna Loka is recovering from start up and staffing issues, we wish them well "we" we're both impressed, and shall come back next time ita

Pros: friendly all vegan interesting. different, moderately priced

Cons: they forgot our sweet potato chips but they were a, a short walk outta town

Awesome breakfast - Edit

Unfortunately I could go to Anna Loka only once. The breakfast was amazing. It was a real British breakfast including "ham" and "eggs" and sausages.
As I am from Berlin I really felt like home- the restaurant looks like an urban industrial shabby chic place to be.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
I ll come back, I promise!

Pros: breakfast , friendly staff , good atmosphere

Cons: no outdoor seats

Kombucha heaven - Edit

I have eaten at Anna Loka twice now and will be going back regularly. The chia pancakes are the best gluten free pancakes that I have tasted and the middle eastern breakfast was a wonderful combination of flavours. One of my favourite things about this place, other than it being totally vegan, is the kombucha. It's so refreshing to find a place that doesn't serve alcohol. The kombucha ice cream is a must try. Not only is the food great but the staff are so passionate about what they are doing, this is totally reflected in the quality of the food. A great place to go for a meal.

Pros: vegan, kombucha, passionate staff

Worth the trip - Edit

We were in Cardiff for the Rugby World Cup (Australia v Fiji) and sought this place out for lunch before the match. I think it opened recently, nicely decorated and a nice ambience. My girlfriend opted for a "meaty" pizza and I had the pulled seitan buns. Both of us were delighted with what we had although seeing a neighbouring table get the breakfast burrito made me wish I didn't live a 6 hour drive away.

Anna Loka - Vegan Cafe - Edit

We were recommended to try Anna Loka whilst in the area. We were not disappointed. A lovely cafe with all vegan options, three choices of plant milks for hot drinks, creative and tasty food. Staff were friendly and welcoming. We did not want to leave!

Pros: 100% vegan , Good choice of food and drinks, Lovely staff

Cons: It's a six hour round trip for me to visit again!

Fantastic! - Edit

My boyfriend and I visited Anna Loka during a short visit to Cardiff last week. They had absolutely loads of vegan brunch options including scrambled tofu, "sausage" and pancakes.

We opted for the roast dinner which was absolutely delicious. Everything tasted really fresh and healthy. We had a nut roast covered in a generous amount of "pulled pork" and a spicy tomato sauce with veggies on the side. We then had a peanut butter and dark chocolate reece's style cake with a raw vanilla sauce. YUM.

Will definitely be returning when I am home next!

Pros: Friendly service, 100 % vegan, delicious food
