226 Cong Quynh, Q1 (at west end of Pham Ngu Lao intersection), Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam

Serves meat, vegan options available. Small take-out banh mi (filled baguette sandwich) and banh bao (steamed buns) shop. Keeps a separate area for preparing banh mi chay (vegetarian). Point to the signage for banh mi chay and banh bao chay.

Easy takeaway - Edit

Ordered both banh mi and banh beo. First thing the shopkeeper did was butter my roll. It may have been margarine but as he didn't speak English and I didn't want to take the chance, so I gestured for one without butter. Filling was good, lots of mushrooms. Banh bao was nice too.

Pros: Easy, simple takeaway , Good taste, Cheap

Cons: May use butter

pointless - Edit

After 2-3 bites my partner and I each threw our banh mi away. The bread was too dry, the ingredients inside only a few mushrooms and the sauce made it soggy. Would not recommend this place unfortunately.

Quick, cheap eats near backpacker area - Edit

Great location if you are staying in the backpacker area, but be careful because some of the buildings have the same number, so it might be confusing to find. Anpham is almost just opposite Zeus greek takeout place and Espy pizza place.

It's pretty no fuss, simple, takeout food. The banh mi and banh bao are pretty good and inexpensive and fills a hole. Quick snack type food perfect to take with you on the bus if you are heading out for a tour somewhere.

Pros: Quick, Inexpensive, Veg bah mi and banh bao

Cons: Numbers a bit confusing
