Just Okay

We chose this place for its vegan options because we were meeting there on vacation with other family members who were not vegan. They were very accommodating with preparing the dishes vegan for me and my husband, but the food was not very tasty. The vegan summer rolls and peanut sauce had little taste. The pad Thai noodles were overcooked and mushy. The tofu they added came straight from the package; the water water not drained, and the tofu was not seasoned or cooked in any way. My husband’s drunken noodles also lacked flavor. Our non vegan family politely told us they also did not enjoy their meals for various reasons I won’t post here. One did love their meal very much.

Great vegan pad Thai and Thai rolls

Lots of vegan options, all of them very clear on the menu. I'd give the place five stars if happy cow would let me.

More like a sad cow review :(

J- got the vegetable dumplings and the lettuce rolls. Both were quite bland and the sauces did not provide much flavor.

K- ordered the vegan pad Thai. Sadly was very bland and didn’t taste like much. Tofu was undercooked and mushy.

Pros: Most items can have tofu substitutes.

Cons: Bland, Overpriced

Great sauce. Tofu meh.

After the reviews I was excited to try this place. Got it to go and it was strange to me that the sauce was on the side vs in the dish. The tofu wasn’t cooked at all. Just straight out of the packet. The sauce was great. Just wish they woulda cooked the tofu.

Pros: Good sauce

Cons: Tofu not cooked

Great Option in Woodstock

We had a great meal here. Flavorful and very fresh! Varied menu with ability to make many options vegan. Several GF options/modifications as well. Very friendly staff. Woodstock is an adorable town with tons of classic New England charm. Not a far drive from Killington if you’re looking for something to do off the mountain.

Best restaurant in town

So many options for vegans, highly recommend the pad Thai, just make sure to specify that you want it vegan

Pros: When they say level 3 spicy, they mean it

Awesome food, very friendly staff

This is one of the best Thai places I've been to.
Although not a vegan place, it is very vegan/vegetarian friendly. The owner has several family members who are vegan so is very welcoming to vegans, many of us the dishes have vegan options even such that aren't clearly marked as such.
The vegan spring roll are great as well as well as the dumplings.

All in all this is an excellent option for any vegan traveling around.

Pros: Welcoming staff, good options, flexibility

Cons: When they say "level 3 spicy is really spicy" , They mean it.

Delicious!

A lot of the menu items can be made vegan! I kept it simple and tried the lettuce wraps and the tofu pad Thai and both were SO GOOD. Loved the BYOB.

Pros: Veganizable options , BYOB

Healthy and tasty, and happy to accommodate

We came to Angkor Wat based on finding the other HappyCow review, but we were pleasantly surprised that there were many more vegan options than the previous review suggests. Almost everything on the menu can be made vegan by substituting tofu or vegetables for the meat. The chef does not use fish paste in sauces so they're easy to veganize. Make sure to remind them to also omit the egg if you're getting e.g. Pad Thai noodles.

The staff explained to us that the chef favors healthier cooking rather than completely traditional recipes. In particular everything is made with low or no oil with lots of veggies. Overall we thought this was great. We felt awesome after eating the food and although it tastes different without the oil it was still tasty in its own regard. One dish where this had a big impact was the Pad Thai which without stir-frying the noodles in oil tasted pretty different than what you'd expect. The flavor was still good but it didn't exactly taste like Pad Thai to us. It also got a little bit mushy due to the noodles absorbing some of the sauce.

We also had the veggie dumplings (absolutely wonderful with a really unique lemongrass sauce), and the lettuce rolls (fresh and delicious).

As well as one of the daily specials which was tofu and mixed vegetables in a light basil sauce. We were licking our plates.

And the coconut tapioca pudding for dessert which was like a dessert soup with a lightly sweetened coconut broth, tapioca pearls, and fresh mango. Absolutely loved it.

We aren't gluten-free but the restaurant is really accommodating to that dietary restriction too, so all should be able to enjoy a meal here. Just don't expect superauthentic tasting stuff and you will enjoy yourself.

The service was fantastic and really eager to help us have a great meal.

Pros: Healthy, Tons of vegan (and gluten-free) options, Good tasting

Cons: Not totally authentic

Excellent food!

This place was recommended to us by a friend of a friend who is local. They specialize in Thai and Cambodian food, and healthy options. It even says on the menu that ALL dishes (not some or most, but ALL) can be modified to be vegetarian or vegan. It doesn't say this on their web site menu, but it does say it on the menu in the restaurant. They have tofu and rice noodles and can leave out any egg or meat. So you pretty much have the entire menu to choose from with some modification.

I had a vegan pad thai and my husband had veggie dumplings and a spicy curry soup and we both enjoyed our dishes. Portions were large.

The service was a little slow, but probably partly because all food is made fresh to order, and partly because there was only one server working that night. It's a small place but still a lot of tables for just one person at a dinner rush.
