Great breakfast sandwiches- gluten free options - Edit
As far as I know the only all vegan spot in Ithaca. My husband and I got a couple breakfast sandwiches and both were great! My husband (who usually isn’t into flavored coffee things) loved his blueberry lavender latte so much that he got a second one. 😂
Read moreOnly drawback (for me) is that I am
gluten free and would have loved have been able to get a biscuit or donut, but I really appreciated that they had gf buns. My husband said the biscuit was great!

Epic - Edit
Epic spot. All vegan. Everything is delicious and perfectly done (you would never guess it’s vegan), and the outside seating zone is epic for adults and kids alike. Biscuits are hearty but fluffy and donuts are almost like air. Folks are lovely as well.

Sweet and Savory - Edit
I am going to time my next Ithaca trip around Angelhearts hours. As soon as I left, I just wanted to go back again. The donut and pastry options are amazing, and I loved the classic breakfast sandwich. I am particular about biscuits and they make a good one. Can't wait to go back on a future visit.

Worth the trip from Watkins! My tummy is happy and I’ve got a box full of donuts to take home. Doesn’t get much better. Folks were super friendly. Latte was top notch. Outdoor seating in cute nook with little garden, picnic tables…blissful! 🙏🏽

Must-stop in Ithaca for plant-based comfort food. - Edit
Angelheart’s, in Press Bay Court, is a must-stop in Ithaca for anyone looking for plant-based comfort food. The retro vibe is casual and cool. While there's a counter inside, the outside seating is a great place to enjoy a meal when the weather is nice. The service is consistently friendly and efficient.
Read moreGot the Classic sandwich on a wheat-free roll, and it is a solid choice. The Chick’n Bakon Biscuit is another standout, with a house-made seitan patty and sweet biscuit. While it was slightly heavy on the bakon, the flavors were tasty. And don’t leave without trying their donuts. There’s a reason why it’s in the name.
Pros: All day breakfast menu, Donus, Friendly staff

So good - Edit
Edited 3/11/26 - New location is no longer a full diner but still has the same great menu we remembered from years ago when we last visited. Food was delicious as always and the donuts are such a treat!
Read moreCool space, delicious homemade sauces, seitan, and biscuits. The chicken bacon biscuit sandwich with maple chipotle sauce was awesome, so was the cheesesteak

Croissant Cravings Satisfied - Edit
Can't wait to visit Ithaca again, mainly to come here! We stopped in two mornings in a row, the first for special breakfast pizza and the second for the breakfast skillet/brunch wrap. Everything was delicious and we got to try a variety of pastries. I dream about the pistachio croissant! Something silly to appreciate, but worth mentioning - I loved the separate recycling and composting bins with clearly labeled signs; so many people do not know what is compostable. The staff was so friendly and welcoming, we will be back soon!

Comfort food and donuts! - Edit
Don't pass up a chance to eat and treat yourself here while you're in Ithaca (or make a trip to visit, even!). Great food, fantastic donuts and desserts and a super cute new location right near (but not in) the Commons. You can't find better people, either.

The best!! - Edit
The best spot in Ithaca. Everything I’ve had has been incredibly delicious, with the mozzarella sticks being the stand out. Other great options I’ve tried are the cheesesteak, breakfast sandwhich, cheese fries, desserts, matcha, and more. Awesome customer service too and just an overall must visit spot!

Best Vegan Option in Ithaca - Edit
Angelhearts has a fun interior design with interesting artwork for sale. I visited multiple times and the staff were friendly. The breakfast fries, Philly cheesesteak, donut, chocolate croissant, breakfast crunch wrap, and cinnamon bun were all fantastic. The biscuits and gravy were a bit too spicy and could be creamier. I didn’t love the vegan chicken either—the breading could be improved.

The diner food was great. Restaurant is counter service with disposable utensils. Internet went down and we couldn’t order or pay in cash. Great experience, kids loved the 1950s seating.

Wowza!!!!!! - Edit
This place is absolutely amazing. Extensive menu with lots of choices and it was very hard to decide. We got the Philly cheese steak fries, the chicken and waffles the biscuits and gravy a side of tofu scramble. Could not eat all of it and the bill was only $50. We’ll have a whole second meal going home with us. Food was fresh lots and lots of seasoning. service was outstanding and the whole vibe was terrific. I’m sorry I didn’t find this place sooner. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic vegan comfort food, fun setting, social justice advocacy - Edit
Absolutely delicious! I had the breakfast skillet with a biscuit, gravy, tofu scramble, bell peppers, and house made cheese sauce, and a chocolate glazed donut. My skillet was big and hearty, and served in a paper boat. The donut (also served in a paper boat) was incredible - soft and sweet and fluffy - I can see why the donuts sometimes sell out! My friend had the chick’n & waffles with a side of home fries and he loved his food too!
Read moreMy only criticism is that I wish they had reusable tableware. Their paper boats and disposable forks (I think they are compostable?) are probably the lowest impact choice besides reusables, but I do get that reusables would probably mean an additional employee just to handle the dishes.
The decor is totally retro diner adorable.
Gay pride flags and a “ceasefire” sign show their commitment to social justice. Thank you!!!
Pros: Completely vegan, Great food, Social justice advocacy
Cons: Disposable tableware

I love pretty much everything about Angel hearts to the point I want to work there very much. My only qualm is that they have been temporarily closed for months now and Ithaca needs them back! We miss you! Also please consider selling your mozzarella sticks to green star or Wegmans!!!

Delicious donuts & cinnamon buns! - Edit
I love a good cinnamon bun and can’t get them by home, so I was sold as soon as I saw them in the case 🤣 the cinnamon sugar donuts are also great! They have a nice selection of breakfast options. The staff were super nice even though it was chaotically busy when we were there- they still took the time to patiently and politely take our order

Fantastic homemade vegan comfort food - Edit
We’ve been going there since they opened; the food is amazing. Highlights for me: Beets Me Burger, Western Breakfast Sandwich, Tofu Benedict, Philly Cheesesteak, cashew cheese sauce, mozzarella sticks, home fries, chocolate chip brownies, mocha coffee. I don’t know how she does it; she makes the cashew cheese sauce, mozzarella sticks and sausage as well as the Beets Me Burger patties PLUS donuts, cookies and more. You can order online and pick up or go eat in the beautiful retro dining room. A true Ithaca treasure.
