Anchor Down
30 NE 2nd St (at N E K Gaylord Blvd), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA, 73104
Serves meat, vegan options available. Located in Bricktown is a laid-back corn dog joint with a slightly modern edge (it's in a converted cargo container). Vegan choices include naked tater tots, the guard dog (2 Field Roast dogs dipped in vegan masa batter, served with maple mustard and made-in-house-chips) and the tree hugger (a salad of spring mix greens, sliced Field Roast, avocado, tomato, cucumber, black bean corn relish, tortilla strips, and maple mustard). The patio has plenty of seating and games, and the beer variety (including excellent local brews) is large. As of May 2016, a number of the youthful & attentive staff are vegan and are cognizant of adding more vegan options. Open Tue-Sat 11:00am-12:00am, Wed-Sun 12:00am-2:00am.

Great fried food late - Edit
We got the vegan corn dog and it was good. The tater tots were amazing, enough for 4 people to share honestly. I definitely didn't feel healthy or proud after leaving but i was full and satisfied. We also went pretty late and it was super busy and LOUD lots of drunk fun people. It was a bar first then a restaurant. I would return! 😊

Fast, friendly, and delicious - Edit
I went here for lunch after learning about it from the folks at the Wedge Pizzeria down the street. While they do serve meat, there are a number of vegan options. I had the Guard Dog, which is two field roast dogs dipped in vegan masa corn batter and served with maple mustard. I subbed in naked tater tots for the house made chips. One of the things I have missed since going vegan is corn dogs, and wow did this hit the spot! The batter was crispy, not too bready, and a beautiful golden brown. Even better was the service: Meg was wonderfully friendly and attentive, and even offered me a to-go cup of my soda. My entire bill was about $11. As for the beer selection, there were at least 20 varieties on the board in addition to the many on the menu. I recommend the local Black Mesa ESB, which is like if a stout and an IPA had a love child. If I lived in the area, I would definitely be a regular!
Pros: Atmosphere, Price, Service
Cons: I don't live here and can't visit again
