AMAZING FOOD. Their menu changes from time to time and it has always wow'd me. Fresh ingredients full of flavour without all the unnecessary seasonings. Their tofu dishes are always mind blowing.

Insanely over-priced - Edit
Food was less than average, we slightly changed our order 2 mins after placing it and they refused to change it. Grumpy staff, avoid :(

great pad thai - Edit
This place was great. I ordered the pad thai and a mango smoothie which were both great. The pad thai tasted healthier than other pad thais in a good way with delicious mushrooms and tofu and fresh veggies as well. The mango smoothie was delicious and sweet and tasted like they used high quality mangoes.

A Favorite - Edit
Everything we've tried at Anchan has been delicious. Wait staff is friendly and helpful. I love the stir-fried veggies, but they also have a curried fried rice which is wonderful. Soups are filling, and the curries are wonderful.
Pros: Excellent food, Friendly staff, Good portion sizes
Cons: A little expensive, but still good value for the m, Small dining space fills quickly

Misled not *vegan as specified - Edit
We went here and ordered the marked *vegan thai omelette. Spoke to the staff to ensure that it was in fact VEGAN and they reassured that it was vegan and that there are no eggs used. However, the dish was undoubtedly made with eggs. We took the dish over to the cook who confirmed that it was in fact made with egg and that he made it wrong. WTF!!!! You have a dish that is marked *vegan on the menu and the wait staff also assure you that its vegan and then the cook admits that he made it wrong. We did not get an apology. The cook was angry that we didn't want to pay for it. Such an awful experience, avoid at all costs.
Cons: Vegans will get poisoned, Pricey, Rude cook

Wonderful for a Birthday - Edit
I had my birthday dinner here last night. There aren't many veggie restaurants in Chiang Mai that can accommodate this as they are either too small or not open late enough and don't sell alcohol. Anchan stays open until 9.30, they sell alcohol and of course make wonderful food! They can even do you a vegan cake, by request, the one they did for me was amazing.

Yummy but overpriced - Edit
Anchan has a very small menu (one page, no pictures) compared to most veg restaurants in Chiang Mai, and it changes regularly. All vegan options are labeled. It is located on a street off of Nimmanhaeminda, just out of earshot of the buzzing traffic. Simple ambiance. I got the miso eggplant dish with brown rice. The food was very good, but expensive (I paid over 100 baht for what you can get elsewhere for 60-70), but this is something to be expected in this part of the city.
Pros: Meal was delicious, Good location
Cons: expensive, small menu

Delicious food in a relaxed ambiance - Edit
Anchan is a nice vegetarian restaurant in the Nimman area of Chiang Mai that offers many clearly-marked vegan options. The restaurant is very ex-pat friendly and the menus are all in English. I tried the eggplant miso stir fry, crispy mushroom with tofu sauce, and the crispy mushroom thai salad and it was all delicious.
Pros: Large portions, Friendly staff, Nice ambience

Really nice food to good price - Edit
Serving classic Thai dishes with a northern touch. Ingredients are fresh and it's obvious it's cooked by someone who knows their kitchen.
Clearly marked what is vegan and the week I visited it was 3/4 of the menu. The menu varies. The portions are generous so it's really made for sharing.

Fantastic curries! - Edit
We'll definitely go back to this restaurant to try their curries and weekly menu. We ordered a Masamam and an Indian Style curries and both of them were tasty and delicious. Even though the portions were fairly big, we managed to order their homemade raw chocolate truffles. Definitely excellent!!!
Pros: Big Portion, Vegan Items marked on the menu, Vegan deserts

Delicious food, helpful and friendly staff, easy to find, moderate prices. All good!
Each dish is around 90 THB and comes with brown rice. It's a reasonable portion! Well marked vegan options available. The green mango salad is fantastic.

Great flavors and cooked to perfection - Edit
This is a very authentic natural food restaurant which lists all which they do to keep their food healthy such as the oil they use, the use of Himalayan Salt in their cooking, the use of fresh veggies etc. What is really amazing as that they cook without overcooking and hence you can taste the difference in the crunchiness of the vegetables. Also, they are very competent with how they use their spices to make their food so very flavorful.
Pros: Use Himalayan Salt, Great flavors, Crunchy vegetables not overcooked
Cons: Still use tofu, Food comes a little slow

Best veggie restaurant in town - Edit
Wow. This place is simply amazing. Great food with an amazing staff. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food and portion sizes. I like to order things off the specials of the day, but the massaman curry is pretty amazing as well. :)

Anchan is doing it right - Edit
Anchan is true to the business with a sweet ambiance with beautiful hand painted murals. I enjoyed the gourmet organic delicacies every time. Wherever its the smoothies and shakes to salads to whole entrees.
Anchan is the model vegetarian restaurant of great service, happy customers, clean and delicious dishes that are full of flavor. The chef stays true to authentic flavors, made to order, with fresh ingredients. So nothing is sitting around for hours waiting for your arrival. Each dish is a culinary work of art.
This is a whole family business. So don't be surprise to see a very young smiling girl hand you a menu or set your table. It so cute to see every time.
You must experience the fried banana flower salad. This original exotic blend of sweet, sour, salty and spicy will have you scraping the plate for more. To my surprise it also comes with a side of organic red rice, making this a complete meal of awesomeness.
Anchan is the one vegetarian spot that you should not miss out on when you are in Chiang Mai.
Check them out on Facebook for their daily specials.
Pros: Banana Flower Salad, Great Menu Selection, Organic Fresh Made
Cons: Closed Sunday and Monday
