Fresh pupusas - Edit
This is not exactly a restaurant, it's rather a balcony where Ana prepares her pupusas. You can ask for the filling of beans and/or veggies, without cheese. She will prepare them in front of you. The place is always busy with requests so it might take a couple of minutes, but it's worth the wait. There's nowhere to sit, so I took the pupusas to my accommodation and they were still really hot when I started to eat. Very tasty, the spicy sauce gives it that special touch. The price is fair, it's definitely one of the cheapest dinners you can find on the island.

First Pupusa Ever - Edit
I had a different experience to other reviewers in that I asked for no cheese/queso but the lady still made my pupusa with cheese. Not sure what happened there but she did make me one without in the end. Was pretty cool watching her make the pupusas right in right of us. Glad I got to try a pupusa 😊

Excellent food - note, birds kept in cages - Edit
Good options for vegetarians and vegans, it’s easy to remove the cheese and substitute various combinations of fillings if vegan. Food is delicious and very reasonably priced.
Read morePlease note that there are two budgies kept in a small cage in the restaurant seating area - may be a potential issue for some vegans.

Very tasty - Edit
Ana is the sweetest person on this island, where it is quite difficult to find good (vegan) food. For vegans since you don’t get cheese she can mix 2 vegetables in one pupusa for the same price, 5B$ so 2.5US$ each. I had one spinach/pumpkin and one zucchini/beans it was really good. It’s made with corn so it’s also gluten free.

Delicious! - Edit
With so few vegan options available on the island, it was a pleasant surprise to stumble upon Ana's Pupusaria. She made delicious pupusas with bean and spinach, yam or zucchini, which comes with sauerkraut and hot sauce. I even took 4 to go for my plane ride home! The price was fantastic too, especially compared to all other restaurants.
