Book a visit

A wonderful day being guided around the sanctuary, hearing the heartbreaking stories behind why each animal is there.

Some are scarred for life, while others just want as much love and attention as possible.

Truly moving—and I absolutely loved it.

Pros: Staff, Animals , Vibes

Am amazing place

The tour was great, very accessible for those a little less steady on feet and with todlers. Lots of interesting facts about and interaction with the residents. Such lovely care

Sheep shack stay

We booked directly for a two night stay at the sheep shack. It was just over £50 a night and included use of the hot tub, which we had to ourselves and other guests weren’t staying. The accommodation is very cute and has a comfortable bed. There isn’t access to a shower and there’s a chemical toilet in a caravan very close by. This is shared with volunteers but we only saw them on the morning we were leaving so it was fine. There wasn’t access to a fridge so you need to be mindful when self catering. There’s a co-op in Biggar closeby which is well stocked and we ate out at the Crown Inn where the food was surprisingly good although on the expensive side.
The best bit was the animals. It was great being around when they were brought in to bed in the evening and being let out in the morning. We met cows, pigs, sheep, goats, pigs, chickens, a turkey (who was a little scary) and ducks. I held a chicken which I was really proud of as I’m a bit scared of them, and I loved the goats as they liked a good scratch! It’s great seeing these animals have a peaceful life after having been rescued. They do such great work here and it’s great that your stay can help the animals live their best lives!
