I have been here twice now and have had the "chicken" rice and a noodle dish. Both were awesome and the owners are very nice and want to make sure you are happy. Great food, great people, I will be coming back again.

Great way to to get the hawker food experience - Edit
The food at this stall is 100% vegan and delicious! I had the "chicken" and rice. This stall is actually near the famous Michelin star chicken and rice place, so if you're with people who want to go there, you can get the vegan version instead.

Great vegan chicken rice - Edit
Yummy vegan chicken rice! It’s not easy to find vegan chicken rice as most places will cook with butter.
Read moreAn Xin Vegan stall is operated by a cute middle aged couple. I can understand why this little stall has a lot of 5-Star reviews on HappyCow. The uncle and aunty are just so friendly and caring! I really love how cheerful they are!
The stall is a bit hard to find. I did spend some time of finding it. It’s located at one corner and I almost gave up searching for it since there are so many choices in Chinatown 🙈 Upon seeing the sign of ‘02-158 to 02-162’, go to last stall till you see Hainanese Chicken Rice stall, turn left and walk all the way down, from far you will be seeing Vegan sign, and An Xin is located at the second last stall.
The chicken rice tastes so good and I can’t help myself to add more chili sauce for it! The deep fried homemade wanton is good as well. I like the broccoli and tomato served with the rice, unlike the typical chicken rice which only served with a pitiful amount of thin cucumber slice. There is a small bowl of soup served with the rice. And you are welcome to ask for top up if you want more soup as the friendly aunty is definitely more than happy to serve you! 🙂
The only thing I dislike is they use disposal plate and cutlery for the rice. For the noodle, they use the reusable one.
Understand from the owners, they have lost a lot of money because the cleaners have thrown away their reusable plates and spoons. Although knowing it’s not environmentally friendly, they have no much choice. The uncle mentioned about biodegradable cutlery but he had to give up due to the cost. Hence, they came out with the half-half solution: half using styrofoam, half using reusable.
In conclusion, I would definitely love to recommend this humble stall for a cheap and nice vegan local food! ❤️
Pros: Great local delights , Super friendly owners
Cons: Using of disposal plate and cutlery

An Xin is delicious! - Edit
I had the “chicken” and rice dish, which had an amazingly crispy “skin” and a ton of flavor. The people running the stall were very nice and attentive. I’ll probably be back tomorrow!

a hidden gem! - Edit
this little vegan stall is a hidden gem on the level 2 of the chinatown complex foodcourt on smith st. (stall 149). the food is delicious and the owners are kind, friendly and hospitable. i went there a few minutes past their closing time (4pm), expecting to find the stall closed, but luckily they were still there and greeted me as if i were a dear guest visiting them at home. we had a pleasant chat and i thoroughly enjoyed every minute and every bite of my meal. definitely going back next time i’m in chinatown. highly recommended!!!

Chicken Rice, Laksa and Lots of Chili!!! - Edit
Amazing food at hawkers market prices. The "chicken rice" with ginger was the highlight. If you love chili let them know and they'll be more than happy to set you up with plenty! The owners were fantastic.

Best Chicken Rice (with no chicken). - Edit
The laksa was petty tasty despite the lack of garlic and onion (the store doesn’t use any), but the chicken rice was the real deal. It’s filled with the fragrance of ginger, it’s not too heavy on the taste, yet delicious. Very affordable too at 3 bucks each. The friendly lady boss even sat down for a chat. They are only opened for a month and are still experimenting with new dishes. Definitely will be back!
