Serves meat, vegan options available. Community cafe with some labelled vegan dishes such as a spicy bean burger. Has panoramic views of the mountain and mainland. Open Mon-Sat 09:00-17:30, Sun 10:00-16:00.
We had a nice latte with oat milk and lovely crunchy chips however the real star was the view over to the mainland. The wee community shop had several interesting vegan options such as vegan Christmas puddings, vegan hot chocolate and vegan cheeses (Violife) in the deli fridge.
Vegan options in the cafe - Beetroot Houmous sandwich(£8.50 tho) - and loads of fully vegan stuff for sale in the shop. Also has the fastest electric car charger on Skye 🏴👍 Post Office and community hub also. Great stuff.
There was one vegan sandwich, beetroot humus with peppers. It wasn’t the most flavourful sandwich and the dish came with some coleslaw on the side that we had to check and turned out it wasn’t vegan. It was a different waitress and we had forgot to specify to her we were vegan, however the sandwich was marked vegan on the menu so we didn’t expect the sides to not be. In hindsight the salad dressing probably had honey in as well. So definitely just double check with the staff when you order.
The ‘Jaffa cake’ cake and coffees were very tasty with a couple of non-dairy milk options available.
They also have a small shop on site which has some limited vegan groceries.
