Vegetarian take away that bills itself as "Punjabi vegan delicacies," however some dishes contain dairy, so vegans ask. Delivers within TST. Open Mon-Sat 9:00am-8:00pm.

amritsar express - Edit

fat. cheap, chunky samosas (introduced to me by a tamil friend). the pakora ,while delicious, because of its sliced green chilli, might be a little spicy for most hongkongers.

as stevie mentioned, the restaurant is blatantly vegetarian, not vegan. ask if any item contains dairy. unfortunately, the chai, while supposedly delicious, is premixed and contains dairy.

everything is disposable here as they're not a real kitchen (the food is cooked on another floor). i'd suggest bringing your own containers/utensils.

it's a very small shop. there's one table inside, a bar counter that seats two, and another table outside. we struck up conversations with other customers who were most willing to tell us what they had ordered.

it's not a place you'd go to if you're concerned about hygiene - staff don't use gloves when picking up items.

i'll be back for the samosas when i'm in tsimshatsui.

Amritsar Express, Hong Kong - Edit

This place was launched with a tagline of "Punjabi Vegan Delicasies" is dangerously misleading. Always ask which dishes contain milk products.

After lots of encouragement the lady in charge has covered up some of the signage. It has now been changed from:

"Punjabi vegan delicacies"

to

"Punjabi veg delicacies"

Cons: Dangerous misuse of word 'vegan'

Not impressed - Edit

Ordered a lunch box which was supposed to have 2 daals + 1 vegetable + rice and 2 chappatis and raita. when I reached home, saw that one daal and the raita were missing!!

the chana was too hard. way too much masala in the food. the ginger in the subji was too much.
